Baobab Life Centered Wellness Nurse coaching to assist with whole being wellness of mind, body, and spirit.

Transformative Nurse Coaching is a professional, purposeful, result-oriented, and structured client interaction in a safe container that a Registered Nurse (RN) provides to promote the achievement of client goals.

It is the skillful use of conversations, interventions, and strategies to engage clients safely and actively in their healthy lifestyle journey. Transformative Nurse Coaches are supportive and encouraging, building on the client’s strengths in a collaborative and co-creative process.

Transformative Nurse Coaches also provide guidance and resources to the client who is the expert on their own needs and choices. Transformative Nurse Coaching creates a safe and empowering space that allows the client to discover the individual healing potential. As an RN, BSN, CPN, and Transformative Nurse Coach, I have over 24 years of nursing experience encompassing Med-Surg, Diabetes, Emergency, Primary Care, and Research. I have earned certification in Transformative Nurse Coach from the Nurse Coach Collective and am a Board-Certified Pediatric Nurse.

As a Transformative Nurse Coach, I look forward to creating a safe and empowering space that will allow my clients to discover their unique healing potential.

🌿 Focus on Your Strength as an Amputee

Being an amputee requires strength in ways most people never see.
Not just physical strength—but emotional, mental, and spiritual strength too.

Every day, you adapt.
You problem-solve.
You show up—even when it’s hard.

That is strength.

✨ Your strength looks like:
💪 Learning new ways to move
💛 Getting back up after discouragement
🧠 Reframing negative thoughts
🤝 Asking for help when needed
🌱 Choosing hope again and again

You are stronger than you think—
not because life is easy, but because you keep going.

Take a moment today to honor your resilience.
You’ve earned it.

💬 What strength are you most proud of in yourself?

Never giving up on being a nurse!
Sincerely, Nurse Coach Dulcey

🌿 Celebrate Your Wins as an Amputee

Today’s win deserves recognition—
you successfully did something new on your own. And that matters.

Maybe it was getting dressed, cooking a meal, transferring safely, walking farther, or completing an errand without help. Whatever it was, it represents courage, practice, and growth.

Independence isn’t about doing everything alone.
It’s about recognizing when you’ve gained a new skill—and being proud of it.

✨ Progress looks like: trying, learning, adjusting, and succeeding.

So take a moment to celebrate yourself today.
You earned it.

💬 What new task did you accomplish on your own today?

This week, I created an amputee support group to help amputees embrace their new identity and creating the dream life that they want.

Sincerely, Nurse Coach Dulcey

🌿 What You Need to Know About the Grieving Process After Limb Loss

Grieving limb loss isn’t just about losing a limb.
It’s about grieving the life you knew, the plans you had, and the version of yourself you once recognized.

And here’s something important to know: there is no “right way” to grieve.

✨ The grieving process may include:
💛 Sadness, anger, or frustration
💛 Feeling numb or overwhelmed
💛 Missing your old routines or abilities
💛 Questioning your identity
💛 Slowly learning to accept and adapt

These feelings don’t mean you’re weak.
They mean you’re human—and healing.

Grief doesn’t follow a straight line.
Some days will feel lighter. Some days will feel heavy again.
Both are part of growth.

You are allowed to grieve.
You are allowed to heal at your own pace.
And you are allowed to build a meaningful life alongside your loss.

💬 What has helped you most during your grieving journey?

I found that my church's youth group and my brother's friends helped me succeed. I believe that because they were older, they understood what I was going through.

Sincerely, Nurse Coach Dulcey

🌿 Decrease Stress With Box Breathing

When stress feels overwhelming, your breath can bring you back to calm—anytime, anywhere. One simple tool is box breathing, a gentle technique that helps reset your nervous system.

✨ Try it with me:

🟦 Inhale for 4 seconds
🟦 Hold for 4 seconds
🟦 Exhale for 4 seconds
🟦 Hold for 4 seconds
Repeat for 1–3 minutes

This steady rhythm helps:
💛 Lower anxiety
💛 Slow racing thoughts
💛 Relax tense muscles
💛 Improve focus and clarity

You don’t need to “fix” everything at once.
Sometimes healing starts with just one calm breath.

💬 Have you tried box breathing before? How did it make you feel?

Sincerely, Nurse Coach Dulcey

🌿 Getting Back Into Social Life as an Amputee

Returning to social life after amputation can feel overwhelming.
You may worry about stares, questions, or feeling “different”—and that’s completely normal.

Rebuilding your social confidence happens one step at a time.

✨ Gentle ways to ease back in:

🤍 1. Start small
Begin with short outings or time with people you trust.

🗣️ 2. Prepare your response
Have a simple answer ready for questions:
“I’m healing and doing well, thanks for asking.”

🌱 3. Choose supportive spaces
Spend time where you feel respected, safe, and welcomed.

🧠 4. Focus on connection, not perfection
Most people care more about you than your body.

💪 5. Remember your worth
You belong in social spaces exactly as you are.

You don’t have to rush.
Confidence grows with practice and compassion.

💬 What helps you feel more comfortable when being social again?

As for me, it was about finding friends who believed in me, not in what I used to be able to do.

Sincerely, Nurse Coach Dulcey

🌿 Coping With Limb Loss: From Surviving to Thriving

Losing a limb changes your life in ways no one can fully prepare you for.
There is grief, frustration, fear, and uncertainty—and all of it is real.

But coping with limb loss isn’t only about learning how to “get through.”
With time, support, and self-compassion, it can also become an opportunity to grow, redefine yourself, and thrive in new ways.

✨ Healthy coping can look like:
• Allowing yourself to grieve without shame
• Asking for help and accepting support
• Setting small, meaningful goals
• Celebrating progress—no matter how slow
• Finding purpose in your lived experience

You are not weak for struggling.
You are strong for continuing.

Limb loss may have changed your path,
but it did not take away your ability to create a meaningful life.

💬 What has helped you grow or change since your journey began?

My purpose as a child was to ride a bike. As an adult, I need to help others find their purpose and find more things I can do as I age!

Yes, I'm doing the Flying Pig handcycle race with the help of The Bridge Adaptive Sports!!

Yes, you can find ways in your new life as an amputee!! I have many new friends because of this, and they care.

Sincerely, Nurse Coach Dulcey
