A good example that we could all afford the time to practice when provided the opportunity.

"Today I made a friend. Her name is Laura. She was pulled over to the side of the road by my house borderline crying asking anyone to stop and help her.. I got out of my car to ask her what was wrong and all she needed was directions to the post office. I decided the easiest way to get her there would just have her follow me.. The lack of compassion I saw in people just driving half a mile as they honked and cursed at us driving slowly upset me more than ever before. Yet, I've been that person honking and trying to rush by other people who just might have something going on that day.

I waited for her to finish in the post office and she could not have been more grateful. You never know what someone else is going through. Stay positive and pay it forward."

December 2000. My Mother meeting her first Great Grandchild. It would become one of many special memories of Mother.

We lost Mother in January, 2003, after almost 10 years of living with Alzheimer’s Disease.

In my almost 30 years working with older adults and their families I have seen many housekeeping issues called hoarding that are really just excessive clutter. Before beginning to create order it is important understand what is going on, and why, and to remember to maintain some degree of respect for the person who lives there.
