When I write my thoughts down, I notice I’m more filled with gratitude. Journaling helps calm my nerves and brings me back into the present moment. That’s why I felt called to design journals of my own, ones that gently hold space for reflection without judgment.

This workshop is an invitation to slow down and find calm through simple mark-making. I used to think I needed rules or a plan to create. What I learned is that one line, repeated with intention, can quiet the mind and bring you back to the present. We’ll explore rhythm, movement, and curiosity on the page.

𝗠𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀:
Rules are what stopped me from creating for a long time. I thought I needed to know more before I could begin. Now I approach painting with curiosity and experimentation. That’s how I discovered what works for me and what doesn’t. Fundamentals matter and can come later, but intuitive painting needs ease and fun to keep you creating.

𝗠𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀:
This reel is a view from the window of my studio. He gave me this view and built the inside of this space, every wall, wire, light, and detail that allows me to create here. I don’t take that lightly.

I am still unboxing, organizing art tools, equipment, and supplies. I still need cabinetry and the staircase to the storage loft built. It is not finished, and neither am I. But this season is reminding me that sometimes you have to slow down and enjoy the process of your life, not just the destination.

Reflection and creativity continue to be part of my wellness and how I care for myself in every season.

I’m prepping stencils for my monthly art workshops at Riseilience.

I cut these with my Cricut using recycled manila folders and found acetate. They are simple tools we can reach for when we don’t want to get stuck in our heads or chase perfection.

They’re optional.
They’re freeing.
They help us keep creating.

I drove up to Amesbury the other day thinking about how fast time has been moving. Watching Priscilla move is a reminder to slow down, return to the body, and be present in the here and now.

Seeing her wear my flare yoga pants brings me so much joy, not just because I made them, but because of who is wearing them. Women like Priscilla, holding space at Riseilience.
