We’re excited to feature a plenary that brings the heart of psychodrama to life through real stories and real-world impact:
✨ The Research Pathway to Wonder & Collective Empowerment ✨

Sunday, Nov. 9 (online)
🎓 Scott Giacomucci, DSW, LCSW, BCD, CGP, FAAETS, TEP: author, researcher, psychodrama trainer, and advocate for evidence-based, trauma-informed psychodrama.
🎓 Rob Pramann, Ph.D., ABPP, TEP: psychologist, psychodrama trainer, and expert in sociometry and experiential research.

This dynamic conversation isn’t just about data. It’s about why what we do matters, and how the stories we live in action become the proof of healing itself.

Join us for connection, inspiration, and a renewed sense of confidence in the power of psychodrama and sociometry.

We are aware of posts on social media on August 2, 2025 and shortly after, criticizing the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama (ASGPP) and calling for a boycott of ASGPP activities. While we respect the right to express opinions, the information circulating does not present the full context of the situtation. A speaker invited to keynote our 2026 Learning Forum—centered on addressing global and societal suffering—proposed a topic explicitly condemning a political ideology.

As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in the United States, ASGPP cannot take political stances. We offered alternative options aligned with the speaker’s expertise, but no agreement was reached, and the invitation was respectfully withdrawn.

ASGPP remains committed to promoting healing through psychodrama, sociometry, and group psychotherapy. We grieve global suffering and continue offering educational programming that supports collective healing within the scope of our nonprofit designation and mission.

In light of the horrific situation in Gaza, we assert that our directive is as an organization that offers programs and events that are for training and healing.

We do not make statements that are specifically political other than this one statement:

"A truly therapeutic procedure cannot have less an objective than the whole of mankind. But no adequate therapy can be prescribed as long as mankind is not a unity in some fashion and as long as its organization remains unknown. It helped us in the beginning to think, although we had no definite proof for it, that mankind is a social and organic unity."
~J.L. Moreno, "Who Shall Survive?"

The ASGPP stands for social justice and societal healing everywhere, including in both Palestine and Israel, and in all areas of our world. We affirm our commitment to a continuing process of reflecting on the world situation and the ASGPP’s response to it.

Join us online TOMORROW!
As psychodramatists, we navigate the complexities of an increasingly polarized world while holding space for growth, healing, and connection. Our heartfelt intention is to create environments that are inclusive and actively anti-oppressive. Doing so requires courage, intentionality, and skills.

During this Courageous Action Workshop, sponsored by ASGPP's Sociatry and Social Justice Committee, we will collaboratively explore and develop concrete skills to help negotiate inclusive space agreements with confidence and compassion. Let’s gather in community to co-create the change we wish to see—one space agreement at a time.
