Cancer took a lot from me—
but it also gave me something back: my truth.

It changed how I see everything.
The little things became sacred.
The noise became irrelevant.

When you’ve stared down your own mortality,
you stop living for what you should be
and start living for who you really are.

I was terrified—
but I met that fear face to face and kept moving anyway.
That’s what courage really looks like.

Unapologetic. Unbreakable. Still standing.

The idea of a “midlife crisis” took off in the 1970s and was centered almost entirely on men — men in their 40s and 50s terrified of aging, grappling with unmet dreams, and acting out in dramatic ways. The story was predictable: buy the sports car, blow up the marriage, switch careers, chase youth.

Men were given a crisis narrative.

Women, on the other hand, were given a diagnosis. For generations, when women in midlife questioned their roles, emotions, or purpose, they were labeled “hysterical” or “unstable.” Our dissatisfaction was pathologized — not understood.

But we’re rewriting that story.
Men and women in midlife aren’t spiraling. We’re waking up, reclaiming ourselves, and refusing to live numb, silent, or small. This isn’t crisis. It’s clarity.
