This has been an ongoing struggle for me emotionally (perimenopause doesn't help!!) - It's hard to have this emotional switch turn on and off, back on and back off, on and off again....

I have always been a firm believer in finding the balance in everything, moderation is key. This though... this one has been tough. Everything feels either extreme or ignored. I'm still trying to find the balance, but here are some things I am doing:

1. Clean up my social media.
Find a good balance of staying informed with providers that give facts in a clear, calm, and concise way (no echo chambers or doomsdayers) with things that bring me joy; friends, good news posts, cats, and food.

2. Permission to feel all my emotions. Name them, investigate the cause and determine:
a. Is there anything I can do about this in the moment?
b. Is there something small I can do to help?
c. Do I need a time out?
Put down the phone, watch something else, go for a walk, take a nap, make a cup of tea... whatever works for you. You can always revisit, but sometimes distance gives perspective.

3. Don't feel guilty about being happy.
It's about refilling the proverbial cup. Recharging so you can show up how you want to in this world.

4. Continue to be me.
