Warning: this may just be my favorite pair of ears that I’ve ever painted 🐉 My customer gave me complete creative control with this pair, as long as they were Mushu & Mulan themed. I’m obsessed! For the background, this may be a niche reference, but remember in the Reflection scene in the movie where Mulan wipes half of her makeup off in one swoop? During that scene, there’s Chinese words that go across the screen. I screen grabbed that exact moment and duplicated that as the background. Ugh. Love!!
The front side of this pair is the Mulan side, with two different portraits of her. One where she’s chopping her hair off with the sword, and one where she’s in her army attire with Mushu around her neck.
The back side of this pair is entirely Mushu themed. One portrait of Mushu holding the bowl of porridge (with a special appearance from Cricket), and the other with Mushu showing off how ~scary~ he is.
Ugh. Don’t know which part is my favorite. I love all of it!

We are born and raised in LA, so we’ve been Disneyland Passholders for forever. Then we moved to Florida, so for the past 3.5 years, we’ve been Walt Disney World Passholders. We just moved back to LA, so we are officially Disneylanders again! First day back as Passholders, I mean, Magic Key holders 🤪 I missed this place!!

Today’s custom hand-painted pair of Mickey ears is entirely Baymax themed for my customer named Robyn! My instructions were simple and vague: Baymax ~only~ with no other characters, but I could include San FranSokyo, and also the recipient is a nurse, so I was told I could also include something nurse related.
I decided to paint this pair to almost act as two different pairs of ears, depending on how you wear them. We have the red side, which includes a portrait of Baymax (mimics the movie poster!) and Baymax in his red suit. The other side is the blue side, with a kind of retro poster-style painting of San FranSokyo and Baymax as a nurse!
I think this pair turned out so cute, and it also made me realize I’ve only seen this movie once when it first came out… I think it’s time for a rewatch!

Painting my pregnancy cravings on thrifted items (pt. 2) - Starbucks kept me alive during a rough first trimester! ☕️ I could barely keep anything down, except for a (decaf) coffee frappuccino with java chips and oat milk, and a birthday cake pop on the side. Ok, and also a lemon loaf, but I needed it room temp 🤪 if it was heated up, I couldn’t handle that.

NOTHING BETTER THAN BEING PREGNANT AT DISNEY 🤰🏻 Calories just don’t count when you’re at Disney, and honestly, they don’t count when you’re pregnant, either.
The biggest perk of living at Disney is being able to just pop in when you’re wanting that good Disney food - so here’s everything I ate in 4.5 hours at the parks (minus the pork belly grilled cheese, I’m vegetarian lol) 🤷🏻‍♀️

Today’s random pregnancy craving isn’t my standard Diet Coke, pickles, pomegranate seeds, or spicy ramen, but a literal block of fondant. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Eh, what can I say? Baby wanted fondant (I’ve probably had fondant once or twice on cake, as you do, but never if my life have purchased fondant or had it plain?!)
