I've got a new single on the horizon! I'm finally freeing all the tracks from my hard drive to make room for all the new tunes I need to record this winter. Please pre-save (and SHARE!) this link for the tune Bad Choices, which I recorded with my buddy, Chad Reynvaan, at Wattage Studios so many years ago! But I'll be talking (singing?) waltzes with Wigi Tozzii on KNBA 90.3 FM FM this Monday evening at 8pm as we ramp up for Friday, Oct 25th's East Side Rocks fundraiser! Art by yours truly; a little exercise in drawing caricatures of all our worst habits. Hopefully, by now, we're all making GOOD choices (hah!)

Opened Social Media after a wild music weekend to find all kinds of things! Saw this fundraiser and wanted to share. I absolutely love what Emma Hill is doing with Spenard Song Circle and all that Rage City Vintage has to offer our community. As someone who likes to throw events, myself, it's no surprise that when things are cool, they grow, and require funding. I'd you'd like to be a patron of the arts, here's your chance! This is my buddy, Grant; he is a rippin' harmonica player and vocalist and last August we we meandering around Ester on a walk after a set of tunes at Malemute Saloon and he was breathing kind of labored. Long story short, he was having an issue with his heart and had to have several surgeries. If you've got anything to spare, please help out. While music needed and ubiquitous, we are employed in an industry where we buy our own insurance every year. Thank god grant did, but the costs of maxing a plan and taking unpaid medical leave are still high. Thanks for donating and/or sharing this post.

Are there any working drummers out there not already committed to 15 bands? Asking for a frie...nah, asking for myself. Must love lyrical music, must love dynamic variety. Friends of said drummers, PLEASE SUGGEST YOUR FRIENDS! Need to take more gigs so i have something other to do then paint my face half gold with expired makeup from 5 years ago, but need drummer for some gigs! Friends i have on the radar are Eiden Pospisil, Derek Haukaas, Kade Bissell, Kengo Nagaoka, Matt Roberts, Matthew Wallace, Will Balcao, Jackson McQuown, Tyrone Palmer, Philip Giannulis, Nick Petumenos, Andy Mullen, Chad Reynvaan, Greg Geddes,Jacob Steven Burroughs, Elan, Morgan, Muriel, and Andy King.
I'm pretty sure out of that list, only two (maybe three?) of these amazing musicians don't have a regular band where they are committed as the full-time drummer (and I know i'm just spacing folks.) But I was way outta the loop this summer and fall so please help me catch up!
Any new or younger drummers looking for work? Please hmu, if so!
I have some summer 2024 gigs already lined up for which I am looking. If anyone is interested, hit me up. We could be selective about dates, even if you're working with someone else, but definitely looking to fill a lot of dates! Feel free to share and thanks!

Hot dang; quick thank you to all who have made the gigs possible this summer! While it's a first world problem, I have had to rely on the help of so many post this surgery. Thank you all for the help, the support, the dancing (I'm living vicariously through your wiggly bodies), the camaraderie (Alex Cruver (last gig pre-op, first gig post-op; you went above and beyond, my friend! Love you!!!), The Super Saturated Sugar Strings, Emma Hill, Emily Anderson n crew, Fiona Rose, & Show Ponies, Beer Money, to the venues and friends whose flexibility and thoughtful accommodations made it possible for me to get out and play in the very earliest stages of my return: Jennifer and Derek, Michelle Saltz of Yukon Bar and Hope and Justin and, of course, thank you, Bennett for driving me to stuff, helping me move gear, and talking me through the weird pain processes. There are so many more but I will expound with a glorious photo album soon. In the meantime, please know my gratitude and know I will always do the best I can eithin my abilities to help you all out in return. I sure missed playing music when I was down for the count! Love you all!

I am devastated. My friend, Misha-el Baskerville just lost her eldest daughter to gun violence. I can only imagine the trauma of such a nightmare, much less it all being compounded by being so far across the country from her adult daughter coupled by the financial burden that unexpected loss brings. I could go on to tell you that Misha is an excellent and deserving person; an amazing mother, the kindest and brightest friend, a gifted dancer, singer, teacher, accolade-earner, community builder and advocate (if you've ever seen Sankofa Dance Theatre or heard Any Mountain Song, you already know) and has brought light to every home she's ever lived in from Georgia to Alaska to California, but I needn't. No one should ever have to say goodbye to a loved one this way and no one should ever have to bury their child. You may not know Misha, but you likely know a parent who has known her pain. If you don't, please take a moment of silence for her daughter and an extra moment to muse on your own extreme fortune. If you can, please help my friend.
It is such a terrible and helpless feeling to be unable to console a loved one, but maybe this fundraiser can grant you some room to breathe and just grieve, Misha; I love you and I'm so sorry.
