To help raise awareness for Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, rock your turquoise clothing and jewelry on Jan. 15!

Alaska Native and American Indian people who have a cervix should be screened according to national guidelines. This includes transgender, gender non-conforming, and two spirit people. Indigenous people are two times more likely to develop cervical cancer in their lifetime compared to others.

The Southcentral Foundation Alaska Native Health Resource Advocate Program has concluded operations, however; resources and support continue to be available.

Customer-owners residing in the SCF Anchorage Service Unit may receive support locating resources for health care, housing, education, legal cases, and more by contacting SCF community resource specialists through their primary care team.

Customer-owners outside Alaska may connect with their local government, Tribal health organization, urban Indian health organization, or dial 211 for assistance with community resources.
