Our spiritual journey is not just about navigating our past. It is also about becoming something new — if we choose it.
Like an archaeologist, we revisit earlier seasons of our lives: experiences, beliefs, wounds, and wisdom that shaped who we are. Some of what we uncover we carry forward. Some of it we release.
But the transformational spiritual journey is not automatic. Transformation requires intention. It asks us to consciously choose reflection over avoidance, growth over comfort, and courage over certainty.
When we do, the excavation of our past becomes the foundation for becoming someone wiser, freer, and more fully alive.

What might be asking to emerge in your life right now—if you choose it

I spent this week moving between SXSW EDU and SXSW, where conversations about artificial intelligence are everywhere. Alongside the excitement, there is also real concern about what happens to human connection, community, and trust in an AI-driven world.

At She. Fully Alive., we often talk about whole-person well-being — mental, physical, social, and spiritual health. In many ways, the rise of AI simply reminds us how essential trust and authentic relationships really are.

Here are a few reflections from the week.

Reflections from SXSW EDU and SXSWI spent the early part of this week at SXSW EDU and am now at SXSW, and one theme keeps surfacing in conversations across both conferences: concern about the impact of artificial intelligence on human well-being.There is enormous excitement about what AI can do. Thrilled to be spending the week at SXSW EDU — one of the most dynamic gatherings of educators, innovators, and thought leaders exploring the future of learning.

As someone whose work sits at the intersection of education, transformation, and well-being, spaces like this matter. They challenge assumptions, introduce new ideas, and expand how we think about supporting human growth in a rapidly changing world.

I’m especially interested in how emerging conversations around learning, technology, and human development intersect with the mission of She. Fully Alive. — empowering women to cultivate whole-person health across the mental, physical, social, and spiritual dimensions of life.

Every conversation, panel, and unexpected hallway dialogue helps sharpen the work and deepen its relevance.

Grateful to keep learning, listening, and bringing new insight back into the communities we serve.

Today we celebrate the strength, wisdom, and resilience of women everywhere.

Across generations, women have carried communities, nurtured families, led movements, created beauty, and shaped the future—often quietly, often courageously. International Women’s Day is a moment to honor those who came before us, support those walking beside us, and empower the women who will follow.

At She. Fully Alive., we believe that when women thrive—mentally, physically, socially, and spiritually—communities flourish.

Today, may we celebrate one another, lift one another, and continue the work of becoming fully alive.

Here’s to the women who reflect, reimagine, and rise.

A year ago, we lost our beloved Sheltie, Jane Austen, to lymphoma.
Anyone who has loved a dog knows they are never just a pet. They become part of the rhythm of our lives — walking beside us through ordinary days and difficult seasons alike.
For me, it took time to grieve before considering another dog. Not everyone waits that long, and that’s okay. We all move through loss and healing differently.
Soon, we’ll be welcoming a new puppy into our home, and it has me reflecting on something powerful: the profound impact dogs have on our well-being — mentally, physically, socially, and even spiritually.
In my newest She. Fully Alive. article, I explore the science and the soul behind why dogs help us live healthier, more connected lives… and why opening our hearts again after loss can be such a meaningful step forward.
🐾 If you’ve ever loved a dog, this one may resonate with you.

Our inner dialogue shapes the direction of our lives more than we realize. The stories we repeat to ourselves become the lens through which we interpret our past, navigate the present, and imagine the future.
Too often, our self talk keeps us anchored to what has already happened—our mistakes, disappointments, or seasons that felt heavy. But growth begins when we consciously shift the narrative.
Today’s reminder is simple but powerful.
The road in front of you still holds possibility, healing, discovery, and joy.
The question is: Are you believing this for yourself today?

There is something powerful about sitting down with pen and paper and creating from the center outward.
Designing a mandala gently anchors the mind in the present moment. The repetitive patterns, steady hand movements, and focused attention invite the nervous system to shift out of urgency and into regulation. Heart rate slows. Breathing deepens. The body begins to feel safe again.
Creativity is not just expression — it is regulation. When we engage in intentional, rhythmic art, we activate pathways associated with calm, clarity, and emotional integration. Presence grows as distraction fades.
In a world that pulls us outward, a mandala draws us inward.
Sometimes the most healing thing we can do is simply breathe, create — and be present.

I’m excited to launch a new She. Fully Alive. course: Empowering Women’s Mental Health Through Intention & Awareness.
Women’s mental well-being is shaped by life transitions, leadership demands, caregiving roles, cumulative stress, and hormonal shifts that affect clarity, mood, and focus. This self-paced experience helps participants recognize patterns of burnout, practice grounding and mindfulness, and create a personalized Mental Health Resource Map to support resilience across every season of life.
Your mind is a garden. With intention and awareness, we can cultivate clarity, protect our boundaries, and grow through change.
When women tend their mental well-being, they lead and live with greater presence and purpose.

Prioritize your well-being with this transformative course focusing on women's mental health

When the crisis ends, many of us understandably expect relief — but instead feel exhausted, foggy, and emotionally tender.
This isn’t weakness. It’s physiology.
Our newest She. Fully Alive. blog explores allostatic load/overload, why recovery can feel harder than the crisis itself, and how honoring rest, nervous system repair, and gentle healing restores us to wholeness.
If you’re moving slowly after carrying too much, you are not behind — you are healing.
Read more about the path back to being Fully Alive.

Understanding Allostatic Load, Recovery, and the Path Back to being Fully AliveAt She. Fully Alive., we often speak about wholeness — how mental, physical, social, and spiritual well-being are braided together. Yet many women discover that when a long season of stress finally ends, relief does not...

A Mediterranean way of eating isn’t about restriction — it’s about nourishment, pleasure, and longevity. Rooted in whole foods, vibrant vegetables, healthy fats, and bold spices, this pattern of eating has been linked to improved heart health, reduced inflammation, better cognitive function, and more stable energy throughout the day.
Today's inspiration: harissa chicken and sweet potato lettuce wraps with a Dijon mustard & apricot aioli — 14 grams of protein and a beautiful reminder that food can be both healing and joyful.
Nourish your body.
Savor your life.
Live fully.
