I’m Melissa Trotman, a Nurse Practitioner and Institute of Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner. I think the biggest problem with the healthcare system is the “pill for an ill” approach that never addresses the root cause of symptoms, therefore cannot begin to resolve chronic health issues. As a provider who uses an individualized root cause approach, I’m helping my patients to reverse chronic disease and optimize their health and longevity. I do this by taking time to listen to their stories and digging deep into their histories and their biochemistry to correct imbalances that cause bothersome symptoms and chronic disease.
