The other day on my outdoor cardio walk, these trees stopped me in my tracks.
Every branch had been cut back. Dead things removed. Overgrowth pruned. What remained looked bare… but intentional. It was well manicured.
And it immediately reminded me of John 15:2:
“He cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.”
I’ve walked through some uncomfortable seasons — betrayal, loss, things being stripped away. It hurt. It was lonely at times. And I won’t pretend it felt good while it was happening.
But just like these trees, what felt like loss was actually preparation.
Pruning doesn’t mean you’re finished.
It means God is making room for greater fruit.
After that season passed, it felt like a weight lifted. Everything became new. I realized God was working on me — with me — for me — even when I felt alone.
If you’re in a pruning season right now, don’t fight it. Put your trust and focus on the promises of God!
New growth is coming. 😇😇😇😇
