Gratitude changes how you see everything.

The stress that feels heavy today is often the exact blessing you once begged for.

The responsibilities, the challenges, the pressure—they’re all signs that you’ve leveled up.

Most people forget that growth doesn’t come without weight, and that weight is proof you’re moving forward.

It’s easy to complain in the moment, but one look back shows how far you’ve come.

The life you’re carrying now is the one you once dreamed of, and that’s worth remembering.❤️

This sista right here is definitely my A1 the definition of inspiration🦋 You Rock it baby girl!!! Everyday I’m more proud of who you are becoming! Thank you for all you are!

September is National Recovery Month. Each day we will feature the story of someone in recovery and give hope to those still struggling. ❤️

"My name is Haley Horne, and I am a person in long-term recovery. My recovery date is May 11, 2018. Since that date, I have not found the need to use any kind of substance to change the way that I feel.

I began with drinking alcohol at 14 and within a year was using substances. I never felt I was a part of anything and always felt alone. I sought for somewhere to belong and fit in. The substances made me feel better and numbed all the trauma I would go through until I got into recovery. By the end of my use, I was an IV user of he**in and methamphetamines, unhoused, and isolated from all of the people in my life.

I was arrested and went to jail on May 10, 2018. After sitting for two months in the Calhoun County Jail, I was able to go to a year long recovery house and do 20 months in Calhoun County Drug Court. The recovery house introduced me to my pathway for recovery that I continue to practice today. In recovery I have gained friendships and a sisterhood of women in my life who are there through everything. I am a part of my family again and have an amazing, supportive partner who continues to encourage me.

I never thought I would be able to go back to college, and beating the odds, I was able to obtain my Bachelor’s in Social Work from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. While in school, I became a Certified Recovery Support Specialist. I then went to the University of Kentucky and obtained my Master’s in Social Work. Through recovery, I found my purpose in life finally, and that purpose is to help others like me.

Today, I have peace and happiness. The hamster running on the wheel in my mind finally slowed down. I am able to LIVE today! Living was something I had never done and I am grateful for everything that happened in my life leading me to where I am today!"

✌️

Life has a way of testing you right before it rewards you.

The obstacles pile up, the pressure feels unbearable, and quitting seems easier than pushing forward.

But that’s exactly when you’re closest to the breakthrough.

Most people fold at this stage, never realizing they were steps away from everything they wanted.

The struggle isn’t punishment. It’s preparation.

It’s sharpening your resilience and proving you’re ready for the next level.

Hold on, keep fighting, and remember that the hardest moments often lead to the biggest wins.🔥
