My Love Grows

My Love Grows My Love Grows stands on the belief that when we are educated we are empowered. Birth Doula 👶🏽 Hi! My name is Kayla Hernandez. As a Doula, I am constantly learning.

(She/Her) I am a certified birth Doula. One of my favorite things to share with people is that I love to learn. You will see that as we work together. I have lots of educational opportunities for myself coming up so my title will be everchanging but one thing that won't change is my heart for this work! Being a mother of three, I am constantly learning. Being a Doula is part of my motherhood. I am able to intertwine the best of both worlds. Loving my babies and loving yours! Emerging myself into birth has given me the fulfillment I have been seeking in my career journey. I love helping mamas have their best birth possible. I love being a "friend" (I like to call it professional friend) because ya know, boundaries. I love being an individual of advocation and education throughout the journey of pregnancy. It isn't just about getting baby here, its about the before and after, its all of it put together.

Another sweet testimony from a previous client of mine. Her birth took a very unpredictable turn that no women ever wants to imagine for themselves..but she handled it the best she could. It's an experience I definitely will never forget but being the calm in her chaos I will forever be thankful for. I am so privileged to be apart of these pivotal life changing moments.

"Hi Kayla!

Thank you for being there for me. It was really tough but it really meant a lot that you were attentive to me and you were present until the very end. I was extremely scared and your presence alone was very comforting. You were my first doula, and that has forever changed my experience as a mother. I hope you are doing well 💗"

See here this beautiful family. ❤️

I used to think that once you heard a heartbeat or once you made it past the first trimester, you were in the safe zone.

Then I had a stillbirth at 32 weeks and learned there is no safe zone in pregnancy. There is no safe zone in life.

Getting pregnant after my infertility and three losses was absolutely terrifying.

It was terrifying not only because I knew what had happened to me, but because I also had heard the stories of what had happened to others when they lost their babies.

It is honestly terrifying knowing all of the things that can go wrong.

And yet, we do it anyways because we have hope.

We choose hope over our fear. We choose hope in spite of our anxiety.

We have to try every day to let the hope be stronger than the fear.

Do you find reading other people's stories comforting or scary?

Do you wish you could go back to not knowing all about loss?

"As a first time mom, I knew I wanted to have extra support through pregnancy and post partum and I am so grateful to have found Kayla. Kayla provided me with the best care I could have asked for. From resources and education to emotional support, she continually stood alongside me with an open heart and mind. I believe having her as a doula set me up to be the most confident mom I can be for my daughter. Her skill set is truly invaluable."

"At My Love Grows, our approach to providing support stands behind our faith in God and our belief in every woman’s capability and strength. No matter the desired way to birth, we believe every pregnancy journey starts with self-education.
When we are educated, we are empowered. That is why, if chosen to work with you, we do our absolute best to give you the tools needed so you feel at ease during your journey through pregnancy, and into postpartum."
"We strive to provide personalized care, emotional support and be a source of knowledge for any questions you may have. A doula is designed to be there for you through every step of your pregnancy process, not just through birthing.
It is a unique experience to be able to bond with a mother in a way not all healthcare professionals are able to do."
"We are passionate about encouraging clients to find their inner strength by digging into their desires, fears and anticipations that surround birth. Once acquired we help construct a loose template on how birth may look like for them. Redirection of negativity through the implementation of education. Reclaiming your power is essential in order to promote health and wellness."

"I had the chance to have Kayla as my doula, and I’m glad I did. At first I thought I didn't need one but a few months before my due date I decided I probably should have one. I met Kayla a few times and she was always sweet, positive and always answered my questions. When it came to giving birth, Kayla helped me in so many ways during that time. Whether it was helping my boyfriend rub my back, to giving me words of encouragement to not give up. She worked very well with my midwife and suggested new positions and things to try to help in the birthing process. Her presence was so calming and i was very grateful to have her by my side while giving birth."

Hi friends and family, Friday we had the most devastating day we could ever imagine. Friday … Rochelle Bulow needs your support for Our Sweet Kynnzleigh Angel

It is your baby who initiates the labor process. When all of baby's organs are fully mature and the baby is ready for life outside the uterus, he releases a small amount of a protein that gets things started.
There are many old wives tales about initiating labor. Eating pineapple, eating spicy food, drinking red raspberry leave tea… the list goes on. Only some are evidence based like eating dates to ripen the cervical tissue. It’s easy to get wrapped up in trying them all when you’re desperate to be done, but it’s important to remember that your baby will pick their own birthday when they are fully developed.
Babies come when they do, not when they’re due.
Be patient. You’ve got this! 👏🏻

We should always strive to breathe out longer than we breathe in. Just slowing down our breathing can be like hyperventilating in slow motion!
In the book, Emotional Intelligence 2.0 by Travis Bradberry, he talks about how the brain can function with less oxygen and has become accustomed to going without proper oxygenation because of the way so many of us have become shallow breathers. But that when we breathe deeper, and supply more oxygen to our brain, our brains can function better and can make better decisions!
Breathing Correctly is something that almost everyone could improve on. Everything is improved with adequate oxygen- muscle function and brain cell function so it seems like a no-brainer to start there and take a timeout everyday for breathwork.
Especially if you have children of the age of 2, 3, 13 or 14 😂 because we used breathing techniques to get through the surges of labor, to bring them into this world— it’s only fitting that we use breathing techniques to get through surges of emotions to keep from taking them out of it! 😂
Give it a try and let me know what you think!

I think one of the reasons why being a new Doula has resonated so hard within me and has me doing 4+ births a month is because I've had 3 children.
I have first hand experience of childbirth. Medicated and unmedicated.
I am 5 months postpartum myself.
I know how it feels to go through this life changing event.
I know what it feels like to be postpartum and have no support.
I know what it feels like to be a first time mom.
I know what it feels like to not be a first time mom but feel like a first time mom x2.
I don't know if this mom thing ever gets easier but I do know that I'm really good at using my experience to help others.
I know that my experiences can help give insight so my clients can research what will work best for them.
And that's the most rewarding part of being a Doula.
That's why I fell in love with this work and what drives me to continue to educate myself as much as I can, as fast as I can so that I can be a tool used for my clients to create empowerment and confidence.
