I saw this bumper sticker on a car at the gym today. I smiled at first, but then I actually realized that this sticker is quite profound.

To me, it's about positivity and abundance. How happy would you be as a little mouse surrounded by delicious berries? Pretty dang happy and not worried at all about that work you still have to do or what you're making for dinner, right? You are 100% taken care of in that moment in the berry patch.

Today I got uncomfortable. I committed to a 4mi ruck with my Hype Squad girls, Colleen Flaherty and JoAnne Schaub, but it was a chilly 30ish degrees and windy. I considered canceling, but I'm so glad I didn't because hanging with this group is always a joy! The ruck ended with a tour of downtown Fuquay with visits to The Vine Natural Health Shoppe where I picked up some electrolytes and local honey, Fuquay Spice and Tea where I got my fave Genmaicha green tea, and (I mean, you gotta live!).

Next time you consider saying no because it might get uncomfortable, go for it instead! I bet you won't regret it.

Tonight I had the pleasure of watching my friend Nicole Phillips speak about the power of kindness. 🥰 My takeaway: There is more kindness in the world than you think if you just pay attention. And if there doesn't seem to be enough...create it yourself!

She is a dynamic powerhouse speaker (and champion rubber duck chucker 🦆...guess you had to be there) and her book The Negativity Remedy literally brought me to tears (in a good way) within the first chapter. Have you ever heard of Orthosomnia? 😴

You may have heard of orthorexia, when you develop anxiety and disordered eating around trying to eat all the "right" things. Similarly, sleep scientists are noticing a trend around wearables because people are chasing after that perfect sleep score. It's causing so much stress for some people that ironically, they're literally losing sleep!

Wearables are a pretty cool tool if you're into data about your health, but they're most helpful to notice trends across time. 📈Stressing yourself out about a day or two of poor sleep or a drop in HRV on Tuesday doesn't mean you're doing it wrong. Striving for good health is awesome but chasing it like you're a caffeinated terrier after a squirrel is only going to exhaust you in the long run.

So...turn off your blue lights, take your magnesium glycinate, enjoy your wind-down ritual, and have a calm, relaxing night of sleep!
