This past weekend at the Green Bay Botanical Garden, New Hmong experienced something truly meaningful & unforgettable at the ๐๐ญ๐ข๐ญ๐๐ก๐๐ฌ & ๐๐ญ๐๐ฆ๐ฌ ๐๐ฑ๐ก๐ข๐๐ข๐ญ.
What began as an idea grew into something beautifully intentional. Every detail within our exhibit space was thoughtfully curated, each piece placed with care, each story shared with purpose. The display reflected more than artistry, it embodied identity, memory, and legacyโฆ brought to life through the hands & hearts of our Program Coordinator, Rasami Moua, Paj Ntaub Instructor Ly Myia, our elders and all of the participants of ๐๐๐ฃ ๐๐ญ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ข๐ซ๐๐ฅ๐ (PNC). Have a look at the video of the setup of our exhibit.

We were honored to be invited by Lindi Kuritz of the Green Bay Area EGA to host an exhibit at their biannual
The past several months, I found myself reflecting deeply on how to best represent my Hmong people, the culture, our history, & the intricate beauty of our needlework alongside the elders & participants of our PNC.
What came together was more than an exhibit. It was a journey, a journey shaped by late nights, quiet reflection, and creative vision. Every piece held meaning. From traditional to modernized Hmong clothing Iโve collected over the years, were brought out and placed onto mannequinsโto the Hmong Baby Carrier and the rediscovery of our matching mother-daughter Hmong hats I created for me and my daughter when she was just 1 month old. Each carried its own story, its own heartbeat. That moment alone was deeply nostalgic & grounding for me.
To showcase the completed needlework from our PNC over the years, each stitch representing time, patience & tradition was truly priceless. Most importantly, this, a gateway for our elders to step out & share who we are as Hmong people, our history, our resilience & our journey to the United States over 50 years ago was the most meaningful part of it all.
We are grateful for the opportunity to honor our culture, uplift our elders, share our stories & needlework with the broader community. Thank you! - Rasami Moua
