Crazy to think this kiddo is about three months out from a leg fracture. We started impact training about a month ago gradually. Prior to this we were doing weight training, mobility, strengthening of stability muscles. Building confidence and getting a feel for what that leg feels like when there’s impact.

Impact training after a leg fracture helps rebuild bone density, strength, mobility, and balance. It starts light and gradually progresses to movements like hopping and jumping.

Why it matters:
• Speeds bone healing
• Increases bone density
• Strengthens muscles around the injury

I really think that in addition to this what helped him heal even more quickly was that he continued to weight train around this injury. We focused on everything we could around the injury and because of this he’s been able to gain strength in other areas which night only helped support his leg, but also increased morale. The atrophy in his calf and leg are almost gone as well. Branden works so hard and always comes in with a positive attitude. He has been so much fun to train! ._.christensen

5 fitness tips to set up your week!

High performers don’t rely on motivation. They rely on systems. By preplanning your week your rate of success goes up exponentially!

1. Plan your workouts.
Schedule your training days so you don’t leave it to chance. (I recommend scheduling your workout before the craziness of the day starts.) yes that means getting up a little earlier!

2. Prep your non-negotiables.
Clothes, water, supplements, one healthy meal. Fewer decisions = fewer excuses.

3. Set goals-
One strength goal + one lifestyle goal to keep you focused.

4. Prioritize sleep. Start shutting down earlier so your brain knows it’s time to go to sleep!

5. Move daily. Mobility and movement.
A quick 10–15 min walk & mobility session keeps your body primed especially if you are at a desk most of your day!
