In the middle of the night Saturday I woke up with a couple of red itchy bumps on the palm of my hand. I thought it was weird but I just went back to sleep. By the time I woke up Saturday morning, it had spread to all over my wrists, by the afternoon it spread to all of the creases on my body (wrists, ankles, behind my knees, my inner elbows,my finger creases, and even a little on my neck)

The ONLY thing I could think of that was different was the lotion I was using. I make my own lotion with essential oils and this time I was using a new oil I hadn't tried before. I didn't test it out on my skin first because I don't have sensitive skin and don't usually have allergies. Anyway since this was the only new thing I had used since I broke out I was convinced that's what it was from.

I covered myself in plain coconut oil and rinsed it off with cold water twice hoping that would clear the oil from my body. Monday morning and I'm still not feeling better and the rash is still everywhere and very itchy. Luckily my office has an urgent care that I went to. To my surprise the doctor said, this is NOT from the new essential oil you used and the biggest cause for this type of reaction is laundry detergent and dryer sheets, even if you're using the same kind you've always used.

Now that I think about it, it makes total sense, because by now surely the oil I put on Friday night would have been out of my system and the rash isn't going away. And it's because I'm still wearing the clothes I washed with regular detergent and dryer sheets. Funny thing is, I have Young Living detergent and dryer sheets, but I haven't used them yet because I wanted to use up what I already had so I didn't waste it. Well I'm not waiting any longer, I'm switching TODAY! I already knew dryer sheets were toxic, but doing a quick Google search this morning...I never want to use them again. It could be the cause of many problems you have and you don't even realize it.

Here is a list of ingredients in dryer sheets that are harmful to your body.....

1. Alpha-Terpineol causes central nervous system disorders. Can also cause loss of muscular coordination, central nervous system depression, and headache.

2. Benzyl Alcohol causes central nervous system disorders, headaches, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, central nervous system depression, and, in severe cases, death.

3. Camphor on the US EPA's Hazardous Waste list. Central nervous system stimulant, causes dizziness, confusion, nausea, twitching muscles, and convulsions.

4. Chloroform on the EPA’s Hazardous Waste list. Neurotoxic and carcinogenic.

5. Ethyl Acetate on the EPA’s Hazardous Waste list. Narcotic. May cause headaches and narcosis (stupor).

6. Linalool causes central nervous system disorders. Narcotic. In studies of animals, it caused ataxic gait (loss of muscular coordination), reduced spontaneous motor activity, and depression.

7. Pentane causes headaches, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness, and loss of consciousness. Repeated inhalation of vapours causes central nervous system depression.

That's A LOT of side effects!!! If you aren't ready to switch out anything else yet, SWITCH OUT YOUR DETERGENT AND DRYER SHEETS!

YL doesn’t have dryer sheets yet but you can use the baby wipes, or use a wool dryer ball and drops of essential oils. A $2 difference from what Target sells Bounce dryer sheets for, and YOUR HEALTH!!

Think that living a chemical/toxin free lifestyle is not that big of a deal? Here is some pretty good proof of why you should be worried about the things you're putting in your body, in the air that you breathe, and give to your families.

I'm not a doctor and I'm not recommending you just quit your blood pressure medication, or anything else you take. But you can try by slowly replacing one thing at a time. Start small and see what works for you. I started with anxiety medication, I got a few oils here and there and would diffuse them and then as I felt stronger I weened myself off the anxiety meds and now I don't need them ever!

There are countless articles out there that advocate for how much more effective EOs were for people than their blood pressure medicine, and then they didn't have to worry how the medication is made, what it's made with, where the ingredients came from, and what kind of life-threatening illnesses will they get in exchange. Just do a quick Google search if you need a little more evidence before you leap!

Oils for high blood pressure include Bergamot, Lavender, Neroli, Rose, and Ylang Ylang.

Several blood pressure medications have been recalled within the last few months, and two more have recently been added to the list.

Sweet potato tacos are soooo good!! I did not expect to actually LOVE the food on this plan. I thought I’d be miserable for a month. But these are only 400 calories for two tacos and I’m completely full and satisfied. 🍠🌮

So I know it’s a crazy time to start a diet with the holidays around and now it’s basically winter already with the cold weather.

It’s a time for comfort food, hiding behind big comfy sweaters, and slacking on exercise routines. For some weird reason it has always been more motivating of a time for me to get healthy. Probably because I hibernate on my couch in the winter because I can’t even with being cold....🥶....and I end up feeling blah.

Tomorrow I start a very strict diet and exercise program for 30 days that I’ve been thinking about trying for a long time. I’m not at all worried about the workouts, but I am concerned about the meal plans. It’s completely different from any diet I’ve ever tried and I’m nervous I’ll give up because I won’t feel satisfied enough with it. 😒

Luckily, I’ll be doing it with the support of Slique. An essential oil line of weight loss support that I don’t have to factor into my diet, because there are no calories, no sugars, no nothing, except help!! This program has a huge following and support system but I kind of feel like I have a one up on them all. 😇

I’ve had these for awhile so I KNOW they taste good and really help curb any cravings. Problem is I’ve never been consistent with using them. I have the tea, the bars, and the slique essence oil. I’ll be posting an update to this at the end of my 30 days!!

This moon can make you feel strong, brave and passionate, but also angry and frustrated. There is a danger though- impulsive and reckless actions could lead to accidents or injuries.

It increases the risk of losing your temper and becoming cruel and ruthless. The keys to avoiding pain, loss and sorrow are patience and forethought. While irritation and frustration may prove difficult to avoid, you can release the temperamental full moon energy safely using self-control and moderation.

However, because Mercury is also going into the year’s final retrograde the same time as the Full Moon, the effects of the moon might be slightly reduced. With two different forces working against each other, the celestial bodies are basically doing a theatrical performance of what our every day lives will feel like.

Best advice - slow down!! Use Jasmine, Rose, Cinnamon, or Clove for oils and Amber, Green Tourmaline, and Emerald for crystals.

The older I get the more I realize how really, truly important it is to take care of yourself. Not just physically but emotionally and spiritually.

Most people are so focused on taking care of everyone and everything around them first that they run themselves ragged. That can feel like you’re left with nothing but sadness, depression, emptiness, etc.

Taking care of yourself is what will bring you fulfillment. Because when you’re happy, it’s much easier to make the people around you happy!
