My faves & saves of late…the last one is just 🤌🏻

1. The 3 musketeers running in my hometown 🥰

2. My dad has an award named after him at an art gallery in Lincoln. My mum & brother were the judges and chose this one. Still so proud of him.

3. Also so proud of Amara and I building this tent all 👏 on 👏 our 👏 own 👏

4. So much summer trail running going down, and I love it.

5. The local gang of kids go feral every evening 😂

6. Spending a tiny bit of time with my niece and nephew at the airport in 🇬🇧 short but very sweet, even though it was 1am

7. I mean, how true is this?!

Parenting teenagers is allllllll about **staying connected**. Not necessarily always being the best of friends, but always maintaining that connection and communication.

And yet… so many little moments chip away at that connection without us even realizing it.

When we tease about these 5 things, we think we’re being funny, they think they’re being judged.

And it sends a clear message - It’s not safe to be vulnerable here.

And when they feel unsafe, they shut down.
They stop sharing.
They keep things to themselves.
They pull away.

Our #1 job as parents of teens is to
👉 Protect the relationship👈
Because when connection is strong, everything else becomes easier: boundaries, trust, communication, growth.

Instead of teasing, try curiosity.
Instead of sarcasm, try softness.
Instead of calling them out, try calling them in.

They’re not trying to push us away,
they’re trying to see if we’ll stay close.

Let’s be their safe place.
Let’s keep the door open.
Let’s lead with connection.

Your teen’s self-esteem is a fragile thing, especially teen girls.

Research shows that a girl’s lowest self-esteem in her life is age 12-14 😭

Help boost her self-esteem with these 5 phrases. What would you add?

I love teens, I love psychology, I love connection.

And because of this, I love researching the best ways to connect with teens in my teen yoga classes & retreats, and of course with my own gorgeous teen.

I’ll be sharing more of this stuff as we go through this journey, because sometimes I feel like we just need little reminders of what our teens need from us.

Which one will you choose to connect with your teen this weekend? I’m going with # 2 ❤️

I can’t believe my beautiful girl is 14 today. For some reason 14 feels so much older than 13, and suddenly I understand the countdowns of parents of teens 😭 how do we only have her under this roof for 4 more years?! I can’t go there today.

Today I will celebrate the absolutely incredible person she is. Kind, funny, adventurous, spontaneous, hardworking, passionate, inclusive, a friend magnet, beautiful inside and out. She is truly a treasure.

I am so lucky I get to be her mum ❤️
