Dr. Megan Pickens, LPC-S The Coach and Consultant for High Achieving Black Women (HABW™) and Those Who Love and Work with Them. ΔΣΘ 🐘🔺️ Hey! I'm Dr. Mēgan Pickens.

After ten years in a troubled relationship, I understand firsthand the challenges of setting boundaries. My journey has given me deep empathy for those who struggle with this. I specialize in helping High Achieving Black Women (HABW™) establish boundaries in their relationships and confidently advocate for their needs. I'm passionate about supporting counselors and helpers who often give too much of themselves. I also focus on combating negative beliefs about masculinity, fostering healthier perceptions, and supporting both individuals and communities. As a dedicated advocate for HABW™, I offer services, including psychoeducation, intensives, and retreats for HABW™ and their partners. For businesses truly committed to DEI, I provide consulting to create inclusive environments where HABW™ can flourish. I founded the Multicultural Behavioral Health Provider Network (MBHPN), bringing professionals together for learning and fun. I also offer supervision and mentoring to counseling students and associates, and as an LPC Supervisor, I provide training to seasoned professionals. A bit about me: I'm a Kansas City, Kansas native. I studied psychology and sociology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and earned my master’s in family therapy from Friends University. I completed further studies at Dallas Baptist University and earned my Ph.D. from Texas Wesleyan University during the pandemic. Since founding The Volition Collective in 2009, I've been dedicated to mentoring and supporting the next generation of counseling professionals. I'm also an avid traveler and a lifelong member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. since 1997, embracing the values of sisterhood, scholarship, and service in all that I do.
