Clear is kind.
Unclear is unkind.

Setting boundaries with clarity and respect is the best thing we can do to love ourselves.

Hi friends!

It’s been a while since I introduced myself! Here’s 5 fun facts about me:
1️⃣ RISE is my passion project that I’ve been working on since 2015. It’s my way of lifting up girls and women through sharing my story, offering resources, and building a community of like-minded girl leaders!
2️⃣ I currently work as an instructional coach at a charter school in Washington, DC where I support awesome teachers in being the best teachers they can be.
3️⃣ I rarely watch movies because it feels like too much of a time commitment and requires too much thought. I typically only watch things that allow me to 836523 other things at the same time.
4️⃣ I’m super afraid of birds - specifically birds that are pets. They’re so unpredictable! 🙈
5️⃣ After postponing my wedding last year because of covid, I’m (finally) getting married this June!! 🙌🏽

Thanks for sticking with me in this space!
You are loved, your feelings are valid, and what you have to say matters! 💕💕

How can we lovingly support our friends? 💕
Let’s face it, we mean well but sometimes we do way too much! We start giving advice or saying “it’s no big deal”, when sometimes all our friends really want is just someone to simply be there. It’s not always about WHAT we say, but really about how we make them FEEL.

What are some strategies you use to support your friends?
How will be a better friend moving forward?

"Cases of police brutality occur so often it is impossible to maintain the emotional space to learn about and invest in each of them - but it is the most human elements of these cases that demand your attention."

“I will have JOY for the small things I have access to. I will pay attention to where the light pours through.” -

Life’s been testing me (& all of us) y’all but I’m gonna keep finding joy in the things I can control. I will name it, I will honor, I will share it with others 💕
