I have not posted in quite some time. I had paused my spiritual journey or at least slowed it down. I have discovered a few things as a result of some great advice I received yesterday and have decided that it is time for me to step back into my life fully. I have some ideas of what that will look like, but the reality is that I am sure it will be even better than anything I can possibly imagine. My plan is to start by posting about my journey from this day forward either here, in one of my journals or both. Now on to step 2. Enjoy you day. Each day is a blessing and a gift use it as wisely as an old man at the end of life and as free spirited as a 2 year old.

Today is my 48th birthday. I got to speak with my lovely mother last night, facetime with my daughter, grandson and son in law today. Speaking with loved ones is a very precious gift. I took myself to breakfast this morning, then headed to Tokyo to check out what Roppongi Hills had to offer. I heard they had some German Christmas shops. I ran into a friend who lives in a different city. It was wonderful to see a familar face. I checked out a garden. Then I took myself to an Indian restraunt for lunch/super and treated myself to some African roses. The friend I ran into told me that there are more German Christmas shops in Yokohama. I had no idea where in Yokohama, but felt that I needed to stop at the Red Brick Warehouse Pier in Yokohama on my way home. Low and behold that is exactly where the shops were. I got to watch the red moon rise over the water. The lights were also beautiful. There was a beautiful Peace boat docked across the bay. All in all it was a delightful day full of surprises for myself. Over 5 miles walked. Now for a little ice cream and a hot bath.

Beautiful day at Lake Kawaguchi and Mount Tenjozan across from Mount Fuji. Unfortunately, I had to turn back about 1/3 of the way into the hike. Normally I would have kept going, but my heart rate was up and I was being encouraged to go back to the bus. I am glad I did. There was another woman who did the same thing. We got to go on a cruise around the lake and took a rope lift to the top and we're still able to get the view. I still got in 8888 steps (3.75 miles). I also got to have some amazing peach sorbet and blueberry lemon nobake cheesecake for lunch. Still got to see the Hydrangeas. The best part was making a new friend. Making the decision to turn around was well worth it. That little white board is a bridge I crossed.

Post 2 of 2 regarding my hike today. On the way home I passed a lumber yard. The smell of fresh cut wood is one of my favorites. I stood there for a few minutes and had to get a picture. Then there were these ants in this flower that were beautiful. All of the bugs on the flowers today were interesting. Here are the photos from the second half of thepark and my walk home. @ Yakushi-Ike Park

1 of 2 Today I took the train and bus to get to Yakushiike Park to see the Lotus flowers. Such a beautiful park. So many metaphors in nature leads me to deep thought. It was more of a meditation walk than anything. As if the hike wasn't long enough as it is, I decided to walk the 3 miles home. The humidity feels like it is 100% and it was a hot one. I felt so sweaty that it felt like me and the wet air were one. I absolutely love Japan. The little lizard caught me by surprise as I was walking though the lotus. I also about had my head chopped of by this little boy's(4-6 years old) long stick that had a net on the end. He seemed to be catching bugs and just was not paying attention when one caught his eye. I was not able to avoid being wacked. A couple near by got quite the laugh over what they saw, which made me laugh.

Great day for a hike. I love the rain. I have never been so grateful to see a puddle though. At the beginning of my decent I got mud in my sandals. I know, who hikes in sandals? Me. It is one thing to have slippery mud on the outside of your shoes, but when it is on both the inside and outside it is amazing that I didn't fall. I had to be extra careful on my way down. Which relates to life. Sometimes it is safest to pause, othertimes back track a little, other times slower is better, then there are times when the safest thing to do is move swiftly and not take too much time to worry about the dangers on your path because if you do you will be met with trouble. I took the lift half way up, saw some monkeys, hiked up a bit more then took the long way back. As I sit in my car at the end of the hike I am grateful I made it out before dark and for taking the long way when I did.
I was thinking a lot about my mom, Chris Robinson, on this hike too. She always loved ferns or at least I thought she did. They were everywhere.
I also loved all of the spider webs and how they captured the water and everything else. Truly beautiful.
