Clear Away the Clutter
Carpe Diem! What spaces tend to accumulate clutter the fastest in your bedroom? Clutter around you is a representation of an accumulation of thoughts, emotions and experiences of the past. Even those pesky ‘catch all’ nightstand drawers, closet crannies, and the pantry need order. Make it a point to pick one area a week and clean, clear and organize. Do you have an overwhelming amount of dusty knick-knacks in your room or clothes you no longer adore? Clearing away clutter creates the space for new energy, experiences and opportunities to come your way.

Mindful Presence to Details
Do a gentle sweep for “stowaways” that migrated from other rooms. Clear surfaces. Create tech-free zones—screens scatter energy and disrupt deep rest; charge devices elsewhere. Invite beauty back in with a naturally scented candle and fresh flowers to uplift the frequency.

Consistent Cleaning
Clean windows and corners weekly; dust the nooks where energy stalls. Tend living plants (water, prune, dust). Release synthetics—they hold old, heavy energy.

Repair, Refresh, Renew
Fix squeaks, peels, and leaks. Make a simple list with timelines and budget. Start with easy wins; add fresh paint or inspiring imagery to lift the vibe.

Space-Clearing Ritual
Choose a plant ally—cedar in winter, sweetgrass in summer. Begin at the center of your home, move clockwise. Close at center with one grateful breath for the wisdom of the plant kingdom.

Carrot Seed is a deeply nourishing and revitalizing essential oil. This nutrient rich aromatic including vitamins C, A and B deeply nourishes the adrenal system and increases our resilience to stress. The warm, deep aroma is grounding, balancing and supportive to the liver which can be important this time of year with overconsumption of fats and alcohol.

Carrot Seed Deep Nourishment Serum:

4 drops of organic Carrot Seed essential oil (Daucus carota)
3 drops of organic Lemon essential oil (Citrus limon)
3 drops of organic Geranium essential oil (Pelargonium graveolens)
5 drops of Sandalwood essential oil (Santalum austrocaledonicum)
2 drops of organic Rose Otto (Rosa damascena)
30 ml of organic jojoba
15 ml of Apricot Seed Oil
15 ml Rosehip Seed Oil

Blend your ingredients and add to a facial treatment before your finishing cream or add to your body massage protocols.

Carrot seed is an excellent and versatile essential oil for the skin, stimulating, rejuvenating and improving circulation and skin tone as well as elasticity. The recipe for Smooth Skin below has been a client favorite for decades and would make an excellent addition to your lymphatic drainage protocols.

Additional skin care benefits include keeping away those pesky summer bugs as carotol, a key chemical component in carrot seed, is effective to repel mosquitos which make this oil an excellent choice for DIY Summer Bug Away and after bite remedies.

Other Simple Tips:

Blood Orange — Bright and uplifting, blood orange brings a sense of joie de vivre (joy of life) to any space. It is also an excellent aromatic for Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and for those of us who miss the sun’s vibrant rays during the year. Orange essential oil is truly a must-have for your aromatic arsenal.

DIY Aromatherapy
Spread the Cheer Room Mist:

• 2 drops Cinnamon cassia essential oil (Cinnamomum cassia)
• 15 drops organic Orange essential oil (Citrus sinensis)
• 4 drops Cardamom essential oil (Elettaria cardamomum)
• 3 drops Clove essential oil (Syzygium aromaticum)
• 9 drops Pine essential oil (Pinus sylvestris)

Mix into a glass spray bottle filled with 60 ml of distilled water and shake well before each use.

Mist your home, office, or car to instantly bring on the cheer. Avoid spraying directly into the eyes or face.

Don’t have these essential oils? Don't worry! Check your spice rack for cardamom, clove, and cinnamon. Add one tablespoon of each to a pot of water, slice a fresh orange, and let it simmer. Within about twenty minutes, your home will smell warm, inviting, and filled with cheer.✨

Cardamom – Refreshing and invigorating, cardamom is an aromatic of inspiration, bringing fresh ideas, energy, and insights about life. Often used as a flavor and digestive in Asian cuisine and medicine, cardamom offers more than spice in your life. It is an excellent aromatic to increase our energy and enthusiasm when feelings of fatigue and overwhelm set in.

Tasty tip: Add a little ground cardamom to your next whipped cream recipe for apple or chocolate pie.

Peppermint – Invigorating and refreshing, peppermint is perfect for a foot soak after a long day of shopping or socializing. It is an oil of strength and fortitude for the body, mind, and emotions. It is also a wonderful digestive aid, especially this time of the year when our typical diet is stretched to the limits of what is agreeable to our bodies. Dilute one drop in a tablespoon of carrier oil and massage the stomach in circular motions after eating, or simply add peppermint tea to your evening relaxation time.

Peppermint Spice Foot Soak:

Add 5 drops of Peppermint essential oil (Mentha piperita) and 2 drops of Cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum) to one cup of Epsom salts in a foot soak of warm water and luxuriate for twenty minutes, invigorating your feet and your entire body, mind, and spirit with this popular aromatic.

This rejuvenating bath is sure to soothe your spirit and renew your body-mind during the holidays and all seasons.✨

Blend the essential oils above into one tablespoon of jojoba or olive oil and add to a warm bath.

Lavender-is calming and soothing and generates a sense of peace. It is an excellent aromatic for tension headaches, muscular discomfort and soothing those emotional peaks and valleys all too common this time of year. You can make a spray with 15 drops of Lavender in a one ounce bottle of distilled water to mist your sheets and pillow cases before bed to drift off to a restful and restorative nights sleep.

Frankincense-allay anxieties and deepens spiritual reflection. This is an exceptional oil of tranquility, inviting that quietude for pause and reflection that is such a necessary part of a healthy lifestyle. Add this oil to your meditation or sacred intentional practice to stay centered and connected.

Zen Hydrotherapy:
4 drops of Lavender essential oil (Lavandula angustifolia)
3 drops of Frankincense essential oil (Boswellia carteri)
3 drops Carrot Seed essential oil (Daucus carota)

They can also be reminders of loss of love and loved ones, leaving us with heavy feelings of the past. The rising demand of expectations from our workplace, home, and family can take its toll on health, vitality, and experiencing the simple pleasures that season of life has to offer.

The use of essential oils is one of the most effective ways to adapt to stress. It provides a gentle, natural treatment and a feeling of control over their own well-being, offering a sense of self-empowerment and a deeper connection to one’s true nature.
