Another deck rescue in the Railroad. Today was removing rotten support posts and framing, leveling the deck, railings and porch roof. New t&g decking, stairs and stair railing to come next week.

Pictures show the before and after of the leveling. The corners required quite a bit of jacking and support.

This is why you don't sister joists when the structure of a deck needs repair. It ends up trapping moisture and makes the structure deteriorate faster. When it comes to decks, what you can't see can hurt you.

Just finished replacing a rotten staircase on a beautiful Ashland home. Been a long time since posting but I will try to get more active with project work.

A Rogue Residential dog house. The dogs asked for an open floor plan, a porch and a removable, latching front door to be used in the winter. I think they are pleased.

Sunday fun day! With a little work. Got to work rebuilding this beautiful entry feature for a new client. Replaced damaged rope light with LED. Installed a new colored fibreglass panel on the wood frame. Got creative with a couple security cables to make the whole thing more serviceable.

It has been a very busy year and I have not been posting. I will have to make posting more a new years resolution. Until then, I'll just do more dry rot repair.

I was trusted to build a custom frame and install this beautiful stained glass window. The frame is clear fir and was built with no nails or screws. Spar urethane was used to protect this art in the wet shower environment it is in. The antique brass transom hardware makes it fully operational. I love the final look.

This week is all about a gas fireplace. Yesterday was mostly tear out and today was the beginning of framing.

It has been a big week and the floors are complete. This is an engineered 3 1/4 white oak. Lots of detail I am very proud of. Now I have to wait for the client to get home for the critique that matters.
