The FDA and CDC are investigating cases of infant botulism that may be linked to ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula. Two batches of this infant formula have been recalled. Do not use ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula if the batch code on the bottom of the can is:
• 251261P2 (“Use by 01 Dec 2026”) or
• 251131P2 (“Use by 01 Dec 2026”)

Please throw away any ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula that has either of these batch codes. Wash any items and surfaces that may have touched the recalled formula using hot soapy water or a dishwasher.

Seek medical care if your baby has consumed ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula and has any of the symptoms below:
• Poor feeding
• Loss of head control
• Difficulty swallowing
• Decreased facial expression.

Symptoms of infant botulism may take weeks to develop, so please continue to monitor babies for symptoms if you believe they may have eaten a recalled batch of this formula.

During the 2025 federal government shutdown, Kentucky WIC participants should continue to use WIC services as normal until further notice. This includes continuing to use eWIC cards. WIC-approved stores are able to process purchases at this time. We encourage families to keep their WIC appointments and stay in contact with their local WIC clinics during the federal government shutdown.

Did you know that eligible women in Kentucky can receive free breast and cervical cancer screenings? Regular screening saves lives by catching cancer early, when treatment is most effective.

Contact your local health department or medical provider to see if they offer this program. Talk to your provider today to see when you should be screened and if you qualify for free services.

During the 2025 federal government shutdown, Kentucky WIC participants should continue to use their eWIC cards to purchase WIC foods. WIC-approved stores will continue to be able to process purchases. We encourage families to keep their WIC appointments and stay in contact with their local WIC clinics.

We are monitoring the situation closely and are doing everything we can to ensure continued services to Kentucky’s families.

We will provide as much notice of potential impact as possible to participants, local WIC agencies, authorized WIC vendors, and partners as more information becomes available.
