What an incredible and impactful two days at the 2025 Summit! We are leaving Washington, DC, filled with gratitude and renewed determination after uniting with caregivers, advocates, policymakers, and industry leaders.

Despite a government shutdown and significant travel disruptions, nearly 100 dedicated advocates from across the country journeyed to Capitol Hill. We stood as a powerful voice for the 63 million family caregivers, championing essential support policies like the and turning deeply personal stories into unwavering action.

A profound thank you to our incredible sponsors and every attendee, both in-person and virtual. Your commitment is the engine behind this movement, and your expertise is what drives real change.

As we enter , the conversations that started here must now echo in communities and congressional offices across the nation. The need for policies that truly support, recognize, and value family caregivers has never been more urgent.

We need to . Our call to action is clear:

With 63 million family caregivers providing ongoing, complex care in the US, new state level data from Caregiving in the US 2025: Caring Across States paints a striking difference in family caregiving prevalence and care intensity across our country.

➡️ Caregiving prevalence rates range from 20% of adults in DC to 34% in Mississippi — the highest in the nation.
➡️ Those providing high-intensity caregiving ranges from 31% in Wisconsin to 53% in Louisiana, a 22-point gap.
➡️ Hours of care provided varies widely — 33% of Georgia caregivers provide 30+ hours weekly compared to 61% in Connecticut.

These differences reflect state demographics, cultural norms, and policies that shape family caregiving realities.

Check out your state’s data profile and share it with your local policymakers. Data like this can help drive policy change where it’s needed most. 🔗 https://www.caregivingintheus.org
