SHC is an organization that helps Georgia Tech students volunteer in various hospitals in the Atlanta area, including Grady Memorial Hospital and Atlanta Medical Center. SHC helps to streamline the volunteer application process and also provides weekly shuttle services to those who cannot provide their own transportation to volunteer. In the 2010-2011 school year alone, SHC members volunteered over 1500 hours of labor to both Grady Memorial Hospital and Atlanta Medical Center!

We are partnering with the National AIDS Education and Service for Minorities (NAEMS) to talk about current trends in HIV/AIDS and STI transmission and learn from healthcare workers with firsthand experience in these fields.

All are welcome to attend! Members earn one point by attending!

UPDATE: The event start time has been changed from 7pm to 8pm!

Get ready for an evening of getting active and learning different ways to improve your health. No experience is necessary and all equipment will be provided!

We’re excited to announce that the Emory Midtown College Volunteer Program is now accepting applications!

This fall, the program has expanded to welcome 41 additional students. Applications are open from September 12 – September 26, 2025, but space is limited—once 41 completed applications are received, the link will close. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible!

Important Dates
• Sept 26, 5 PM – All documents due
• Sept 30 – Interview notifications sent
• Oct 1–9 – Online interviews (Zoom)
• Oct 10 – Acceptance notifications
• Oct 24 – TSPOT blood test deadline
• Oct 31 – Mandatory orientation (in-person)

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Week of Welcome event! Students had the chance to create vision boards for their pre-health goals, connect with SHC’s executive board, and learn more about courses, volunteering, and clinical opportunities at Georgia Tech. We loved seeing so many new faces come together to share their aspirations and start building community.
