Today, we celebrate the legacy, resilience, and impact of Black midwives—past, present, and future. As a Black midwife, I am honored to serve my community, advocate for birth justice, and support families in welcoming their little ones with love, safety, and empowerment.

My journey in birth work has been filled with dedication, growth, and service:

One of my favorite parts of Midwifery….

Is being a resource and providing Mother’s with birth education all Mom’s should have access to..

because information is both powerful, enlightening and it can be comforting!

There is a lot of misinformation about birth and our bodies.. so let’s debunk some of these myths together with my new series, TRUE or FALSE.

Together, we are going to start real conversations about birth and hopefully if you’re a Mama, family planning, an aspiring birth worker or in support of Mamas in your life…

this series will serve as an educational resource and encourage Mamas to seek birth education early on their journey 💜

If you are pregnant you’ve likely already heard the term Midwife or Doula as nowadays it is a common word used during pregnancy. A midwife is a trained health professional who helps healthy women during labor, delivery, and after the birth of their babies. Midwives may deliver babies at birthing centers or at home, but most can also deliver babies at a hospital. A doula is a support person hired to provide physical, emotional and information support before, during and after birth. “Let the countdown BEGIN 👩🏽‍🎓🎓

As I prepare to cross the stage in just 11 days, I’m reflecting on my journey truly in awe of it all.

Throughout the past few weeks, I’ve been so happy to share space with the next generation of Midwives in line with me and the grand midwives before me (I will share soon).

The role of midwives throughout generations has always been essential.. we quite literally usher life earth side and that - I will always honor!

I will honor the mothers, families, and the little babies that I care for… my preceptor, mentors and fellow midwives that inspire me daily and I will honor the lifelong journey of catching beautiful babies.

With profound gratitude and excitement, I am thrilled to announce that in just 11 days, I will be graduating as a Midwife. This journey has been a testament to dedication, compassion, and the unwavering commitment to ushering life into this world.

I am deeply honored to join the ranks of those who have come before me and to stand alongside the next generation of birth workers.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me along this path. Here’s to the incredible journey ahead! 🎓🌟
