An Evening Filled With Joy and Laughter

Our time at the The Punchline Comedy Club - Atlanta reminded me once again that laughter truly is medicine.

My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of supporting my dear friend, the incredibly talented comedian , and she was in her full, magnificent element. Watching her light up the room with humor, heart, and effortless charisma was truly a delight.

It was also such a joy to reconnect with my PowerCore family — familiar faces, warm hugs, and genuine conversations that felt like a beautiful reunion.

Thank you, Doree, for gifting us a night of laughter, connection, and celebration.

We volunteered on Thanksgiving Day for the first time with — and what more could we ask for? Life is truly giving.

has spent the last eight years serving hundreds of individuals experiencing homelessness in downtown Atlanta — every single Thanksgiving — with joy, dignity, and unwavering love.

To witness her passion up close was humbling.
To serve alongside her team was inspiring.
To see people receive with gratitude and bless us right back was deeply refreshing to the soul.

My family and I walked away fuller than we arrived — fuller in heart, fuller in perspective, fuller in appreciation for community.

I’m so grateful for Mama J, her team, and everyone who pours into this mission year after year.

As we gear up for the Thanksgiving holiday, it’s easy to slip into the hustle — cooking, hosting, traveling, preparing, and pouring into everyone else. But remember: Thanksgiving is meant to be a joyful, nourishing, and connecting experience… not a stressful one.

Most people equate “rest” with sleep, but true restoration is far more than that. According to Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith, there are seven types of rest we all need — each nourishing a different dimension of our wellbeing. When even one is neglected, fatigue, irritability, burnout, and slow recovery can quietly creep in.

As you move into the holiday weekend, consider this your gentle reminder to pause, breathe, and create space for the kind of rest that allows you to feel and function at your best — not just for others, but also for yourself.

I did it… and I lived to tell the story!

Today I tackled the Blanket Creek Mountain Bike Trail, and let me tell you… Halfway through, I definitely questioned all my life choices. I had a come-to-Jesus moment. 😅

There I was, deep in the woods, dodging roots, rocks, and my own fears—thinking, “Lord, who sent me here?”

But step by step… or should I say, one foot in front of the other and one pedal push at a time, I kept going. I had to dismount my bike a couple of times to walk it over the treacherous trail; the slippery ground didn’t make it any easier.

And guess what?
👉🏾 I made it out of those woods within the three-hour limit. Saw a few deer and other trail creatures.
👉🏾 I’m grateful for all those who encouraged me in the woods to keep going. You’re almost there, they kept saying, even when they knew I was far from it. But it helped! 😀

It was an experience—a reminder that growth happens when we challenge ourselves, even when it feels uncomfortable.

And I have to give a huge shoutout to my amazing husband Joseph Muyiwa Babalola—who waited TWO whole hours for me to finish that 8+ mile trail. His patience, support, and belief in my wild ideas (and adventurous dreams!) mean the world to me. 💛🙏🏾

Here’s to saying YES to new adventures, pushing our limits, laughing at ourselves, and celebrating the victories—big and small. 💚✨

Not only did we dive into why muscle matters—from metabolism and mobility to confidence and cognitive health—but we also rolled up our sleeves and walked through a practical exercise prescription that every woman can use to stay strong, energized, and functional at every age.

The FDA has officially announced it will remove the long-standing boxed warning (the strongest caution label) from more than 20 hormone therapy medications used to treat hot flashes, night sweats, and other menopause symptoms.

Thanks to my colleagues Drs Rachel S. Rubin MD - Urologist and Sexual Medicine Specialist, Casperson for You Are Not Broken and Hirsch MD MS NCMP for the relentless advocacy, education, and expert review that helped advance our understanding of hormone therapy and how to prescribe the right dose, for the right woman, at the right time.

The original boxed warning was added more than 20 years ago due to concerns about heart attack, stroke, and dementia.

This moment is a powerful reminder:

Menopause science is not static — it evolves.
And women deserve access to current, evidence-based information… not outdated fear-based messaging.

For many women, this opens the door to more confident, informed conversations with their clinicians about whether hormone therapy may be a safe, effective, and appropriate option.
