Being a social worker is not just a career path it’s who I am. I vividly remember before starting grad school not knowing what I was getting myself into and honestly not fully knowing all social work entailed,and after starting feeling a sense of belonging. Being around people who are just as if not more empathetic than I am, people who have the deep rooted desire to grow and help others, people who have such a strong passion for making a change in the world. I earned so much more than a degree in grad school I really learned who I truly was, I found my purpose. I am so thankful to God that at 24 I was able to find my purpose and that I am able to live in it. Being a social worker is not a job title it’s who we are.
So Happy Social Work Month to all my fellow social workers! I see you, I am here for you, and I empathize with you in all that you go through that people have no idea about. Enjoy this month and practice just a little bit more self care than usual (if you know a social worker personally then you know how hard this is for us 🤣😅🤷🏾‍♀️)
