It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that our beloved Flosusm “Flo” Smith passed away suddenly and tragically. Affectionately known to his family as “Small Dada” and to his friends as “Hollywood Flo” or simply “Flo”, he left a meaningful mark on this world and in our hearts that can never be forgotten. He moved through this world with intention and always with an open hand, a grateful heart, a joyful spirit and the biggest smile toward everyone he encountered. He was a fearless leader who understood that effective leadership meant gaining the trust and respect of others, finding common ground with people, and organizing people around a shared vision and purpose. His vision of success was inviting and inclusive, and it didn’t begin or end with him alone, because in his mind the measure of a true leader is about how you move your community forward. He demonstrated what it looks like to accomplish great things and still be a humanitarian at heart, never losing sight of our interconnection and responsibility to each other as human beings. His life was defined by acts of service - to God, his family and his community - and that’s how we will forever remember him in our hearts and minds.
