Love this article. Great conversation starter! The author, Clay Cranford invited me to be a guest on this parent workshop on September 17th to unpack this and other "edgy" internet safety topics.
Why Clay's post resonated with me:
Clayโs experience as an SRO and juvenile investigator gives him frontโrow insight into how early exposure to p**n fuels isolation in our kids. His breakdown of the neurological hook and social impact is spotโon...but we can't stop there:
Here is what this article inspired in me, as a dad, internet safety advocate, and digital addiction recovery coach:
1. Start digitalโwellness education by age 7, not 12โkids that young deserve guidance on online consent, body privacy, and healthy curiosity.
2. Pair tech boundaries with positive sexualโhealth talks so children learn about respect and real intimacy, not just โno screens.โ
3. P**n hooks the brain, but so does binging Fortnite or TikTokโaddress possible root causes: loneliness, anxiety, or boredom, lack of social skills, etc. Digital addiction is not one vice fits all.
Want to dive deeper? Weโll unpack these ideas, bring in tools from my R.A.D.D. program and Clay's new book and give you a stepโbyโstep blueprint to protect and truly connect with your childrenโwell before the โawkward puberty talksโ hit.
Bottom line:
Letโs shift from the โjust block itโ mantra to teaching our kids how to thrive in the digital world. Whoโs in? ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐ฆโ๐ฆ

As a father of two boys and a 20-year law enforcement veteran who has worked as a School Resource Officer and juvenile investigator, Iโve witnessed firsthand a troubling trend. More and more young men are retreating into the digital world โ specifically into online p**nography โ and coming out...
