Want to see an honest moment of me practicing reparenting after several hours of client sessions and a litany of administrative demands that had me panicking, foggy brained and spinning?
As 1 of 7 kids, parented by adults that had their own challenges with childhood attunement, I was conditioned to always turn to myself for all of my emotional needs, care and support. Yes, I became self-sufficient, ambitious, selt-aware and self-reliant but at the cost of overwhelm and difficulty in asking for help.
Learning to tune into my inner child with attending skills, grounding touch, and intentional breathing has been exceptionally regulating and reparative.
When emotional flooding shows up, we don't have to push through it alone. We can pause. We can listen. We can offer ourselves the same compassion we would a child we love.
This is your reminder that:

✨You're allowed to reset
✨Your needs matter
✨You don't have to hold everything all by yourself
We're learning to care for ourselves so we know how to allow others too, as well— safely, gently, patiently, and with trust. 💕
