KENNEDI SOFIA IS IN COMPLETE REMISSION!

All her tests and scans came back stable! One year, eight months, four weeks, and one day later we finally get to start the countdown to being cancer free!

There’s still a chance tumors could appear for the next few years but so far she’s doing great!

Thank you to everyone who has helped us get to this point. This is the absolute best news we could hope for at this time. I’m going to buy her a huge cake and we’re going to celebrate!!

Kennedi Sofia’s exam showed she is stable! Again this is the best we can hope for at this time! She didn’t need any laser therapy, IV’s, breathing tubes, or pumps today! She gets a two month break before she has to go back!

Sweet Kennedi was supposed to head to Atlanta tonight for another exam under anesthesia, but we’re still having delays with switching her insurance. They didn’t put her on the schedule for tomorrow because we’re considered “self-pay” so rather than having a third surgery not be covered they’re postponing the appointment until we can get an “in-network” insurance. Unfortunately, her doctor only works in the children’s hospital on Mondays and will be out of town next week so the earliest she can be seen is July 26th.

The good news is that we received the results of her MRI and her blood work and Kennedi is STABLE! Being stable is the best news we could hope to get at this time.

Thank you all for the love and support that has helped us get her to this point in her journey.

We got here safe and sound and a bit earlier than expected. Kennedi has an MRI under sedation today. If she’s feeling up for it later we’re going to have lunch outside before heading home. She’s in a great mood today and we’re hoping for the best.

For the first time since Kennedi Sofia started her cancer treatments she DID NOT need any laser therapy!!! She had a stable exam under anesthesia. She returns on June 23rd for an MRI of her head and neck and to monitor the cyst on her pineal gland.

Her new insurance is not accepted by CHOA so now we’re working to navigate that and possibly move back to Georgia without having to reschedule her appointments.

Thank you all so much for helping us to get to this point. Kennedi and her brother, Nicolas, were able to get their regular immunizations now that it’s past six months since her last chemotherapy treatment so they got to have their first play date!

Apparently the last update never posted. I apologize for that.

Kennedi Sofia is doing well. Her pediatric ophthalmologist said that she will need glasses (how cute, that was to be expected). She also has to wear an eyepatch over her left eye for a few hours everyday for the next few years so that her left eye doesn’t give up and let her right eye do all the work. Kennedi is not a fan of the eyepatch — not even a little bit. We are working on ways to try to make it fun. If you know of any let me know.

Kennedi goes back to CHOA on the 24th for another monthly exam under anesthesia. If there is no tumor growth she should not need any laser, so we are hoping for the best.

Thank you all for standing by us as we see Kennedi through this fight with cancer.
