Let’s talk dairy, your skin and your mood.
Too often, I get the same question:
“Should I cut out dairy to clear my skin or feel better mentally?”
The truth is… it depends on your body.
Your mood:
Dairy can affect serotonin, your “feel good” hormone, by influencing gut health and inflammation. Since nearly 90% of serotonin is made in the gut, if dairy causes irritation for you, it could also cause brain fog, anxiety, or fatigue.
Your skin:
For some, dairy increases IGF-1 (a growth hormone that can trigger oil production and inflammation), leading to breakouts or dullness. For others, fermented dairy like kefir or Greek yogurt can improve gut balance and skin clarity thanks to natural probiotics.
So, should you cut it out?
Not necessarily, but you should listen to your body.
That’s why I have created a few Dairy-Free Protein meals with 30+ grams of protein that support gut, mood, and skin health without the guesswork.
