Here are the top 3 things to help you lose body fat โœ…

1. You ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ must ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ eat ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ in ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ a ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ calorie ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ deficit ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ If you have more than 15lbs to lose, there is no way around thisโ€ผ๏ธ And if you are eating healthy but still not losing weight? This means youโ€™re not in a calorie deficit. Google โ€œcalorie deficit calculatorโ€ to find yours.

2. Strength train at least 3 days per week. Stop waiting until you lose weight first before you incorporate weights. Youโ€™re just making the process longer. Lifting weights wonโ€™t make you bulky. It will actually increase your metabolism, help you burn more calories overall, and maintain muscle mass. ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ

3. Eat enough protein and prioritize your macros! ๐Ÿ– If youโ€™re extremely hungry within your calorie deficit all the time (slight hunger is normal) youโ€™re most likely not eating enough protein (or youโ€™re eating too few calories, but Iโ€™ll save this for another post). Protein doesnโ€™t only help you build/retain muscle, but it keeps you fuller between meals. Extreme hunger will prevent you from staying on track long term.

My weight loss progress accelerated when I prioritized more movement ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ my scheduled workouts. ๐Ÿ”ฅ โฃ

Yes, a 30 minute workout is great! โœ… โฃ

So, if you feel bad for struggling to reach your goalโ€ฆdonโ€™t.

I used to struggle with:
โž–Emotional eating
โž–Eating a lot of calories in the middle of the night
โž–Drinking too much alcohol, too often.
โž–Yo-yo dieting
โž–Restrictive eating that made me unhappy

If you want to lose weight and keep it offโ€ฆ

Slow down & carefully address the things that caused weight gain or a decrease in the quality of life in the first placeโ€ผ๏ธ

Here are a few things I had to address, learn, and unlearn to finally enjoy my journey & stop yo-yo dieting:

โœ… Talk therapy helped me face and heal underlying emotions that made me turn to food to cope.
โœ… I dove into nutrition and learned how to eat in a way that increased my energy and made me feel whole, instead of feeling hunger all day
โœ… I prayed A LOT, asking God to change my relationship with drinking- Iโ€™m a firm believer of sticking to the recommended amount of alcohol for women.
โœ… I renewed my mindset with exercise and weight loss, and taught myself to show up differently when doubt, fear, and imperfection arose. This helped me finally lose weight and keep it off ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ
โœ… With the help of God, I healed my relationship with all food! Thereโ€™s no such thing as โ€œbadโ€ food. Rather, I see food as โ€œinformation.โ€ There are some foods that gives your body the nutrients to restore, heal, and provide energy. Anddd, there are other foods that doesnโ€™t give your body those things. My rule is to eat more foods that GIVEโ€ผ๏ธ

Donโ€™t lose hope. Keep going. Give yourself grace. Sometimes you just need a different approach (and a bit of time) to get to where youโ€™re going! ๐Ÿฉท
