My Juicing Journey Learn how to juice for health and weight loss. Tamara Hartley shares how she lost 23 lbs, survived a 21-Day Juice Fast, and avoided drinking NASTY juice.

After having four children, I struggled with my weight for years! I've tried every diet known to man, from cabbage soup to boiled eggs. But I have never been able to successfully stick to a plan. I previously tried juicing and did it all wrong so I was stuck trying to force down disgusting juice recipes/combinations. After many years I revisited the idea of juicing. This time, I did my research and committed to the process. I applied what I learned and found that I did not have to drink NASTY juice. I figured out what I liked and came to love drinking my juice, especially my green juice. I also figured out how to fix "bad" juice and found juice combinations that I love. This time around I was more prepared and had the right tools and equipment. I survived a 21-Day Juice Fast and lost 23 pounds. I learned that health and wellness is a journey, not a quick fix, but losing weight and sticking to a plan has fueled me to continue my health and wellness journey.

Hey everyone, hows it going????

Ok, so I initially wanted to start the next 21-Day Juice challenge this week, but between college visits and jury duty, time got away from me! So, I'm planning to start next Monday, December 10th!

Yes, I know that means I am fasting through the Christmas holiday, but I'm serious about getting ready for the New Year!

So, this round I'm doing juice and raw foods. So I'll drink my juice all day and eat a raw meal (most likely a big salad if I can FIND some good lettuce left in America - lol)

But raw simply means fruits/veggies/nuts, etc., no meat or cooking.

Day #9 - I bought this fruit smoothie because it was on sale and because I wanted a bit of variety. But after drinking my own juice, I couldn't even get this down. Took two sips and was done. It was waaaay too sweet. Then I check out the label and it has 49 grams of sugar!!!! Can someone say "Liquid Diabetes!"

Even when juicing and drinking natural sugars, you have to be mindful of your sugar intake. This is why I juice at home, control my own sugar and juice more vegetables than fruit.

Believe it or not, doing a 21-Day Juice fast will change your taste buds!!!
