Happy Galentine’s Day 💕

Galentine’s Day, celebrated on February 13th, was popularized by the TV show Parks and Recreation as a day to celebrate the love and strength of female friendships. Over time, it’s become a reminder that sisterhood deserves recognition too.

At The Vet Space, we celebrate Galentine’s Day because sisterhood doesn’t end when service does.

The bonds built in uniform in challenge, in growth, in shared experience are powerful. But they don’t have to fade once we transition out.

We believe in creating space for women veterans and active-duty sisters to reconnect, move, heal, and grow — especially outdoors.

If you’re looking for a private, supportive community where you can connect with other military women and find opportunities to get outside together…

We invite you to join our private Facebook group.

Because sisterhood is stronger when we stay connected. 🌎❤️💙🥾🌋🏞️🧗🏽🚴🏼‍♀️🧘🏽‍♀️🏄🏿‍♀️

Throwback to the mountain that reminded us who we are. 🌄

Sisterhood on the trail.
Shared water. Shared laughter. Shared strength.
Not one woman veteran left behind.

This is what expanding access to the outdoors looks like.
This is what community looks like.

At The Vet Space, we’re creating spaces where women veterans, especially those who haven’t always seen themselves reflected in outdoor culture…can heal, connect, and thrive.

Access to nature should not be a privilege. It should be possible for every veteran.

Georgia veterans deserve access to healing spaces.

SB 190 — the Georgia Honor and Wellness Act, would provide full state park fee waivers for:

⭐️Veterans with an honorable discharge
⭐️Active duty service members
⭐️Gold Star families

This legislation helps remove financial barriers to nature, connection, and community.

At The Vet Space, we believe wellness should be accessible.

Sisters in Service: It’s Time to Take Charge of Your VA Healthcare.

Nearly 2 million women Veterans have served, yet many of us still face disparities in access or feel dismissed when seeking care. It’s time to change the narrative.

Join The Vet Space on February 9, 2026, at 7:00 PM for a crucial workshop: "Our Benefits, Our Service."

We are breaking down the complex VA system and discussing:
✅ The Truth about Community Care: It is a right, not a favor.

✅ Who Qualifies: Did you know meeting just one condition (like a 28-day wait or a 30-min drive) is enough?

✅ Self-Advocacy: How to navigate the "Mission Act" and get the gender-specific care you earned.

You are not alone in this process. Let’s help one another claim the benefits we’ve earned.

This , we are reminded that justice requires sustained action.

The Vet Space is committed to expanding outdoor access for all veterans as a matter of mental health, wellness, and equity.

We were actively involved in advocacy efforts that supported legislation in New York granting veterans access to state parks—recognizing the proven connection between nature, healing, and community. We will continue this work in Georgia, engaging directly in policy advocacy and collaboration to ensure veterans have equitable access to outdoor spaces.

We also pause to acknowledge leadership in action.
A heartfelt thank you to Senator Nikki Merritt and Senator Kenya Wicks—women veterans whose leadership and advocacy helped move this work forward. Their commitment reflects what’s possible when veterans are trusted to lead.

While the work is not finished, we are stronger together—and we will keep moving forward.

Midweek check-in 🌿

Community, connection, and a little fresh air can go a long way.

Self-care doesn’t have to be complicated —
sometimes it’s stepping outside, moving your body, or simply showing up as you are.

We believe in challenge by choice. Whether that’s a hike, a walk, a pause, or connecting with others — you belong here.

If you’re a woman veteran or active-duty sister looking for a supportive, private space, we invite you to join our private Facebook group. A place for encouragement, community, and moving at your own pace.
