🍂 Fall Retreat Recap: A Weekend of Healing, Laughter & Sisterhood 🍂

From our breathtaking hike through Deep Creek’s 4 waterfalls in the Great Smoky Mountains to the massages, sound bath by the firepit, s’mores, amazing food, and late-night bonding, this retreat was pure magic. ✨

It was a life-giving weekend — full of veteran sisterhood, hearty laughs, and countless hugs. 💕 Huge thanks to our incredible sponsors — Mr. Chuck Frank, Wendi and Scott Kribs of Gorgeous Stays, the Sierra Club, Kia Georgia, BeeWell Botanicals, Art Explorations, Annan Levesque, and all the others who made it possible for us to offer this retreat for free to our sisters. 🙏

I’m beyond grateful for each of the 35 women veterans who chose to say “yes” to themselves. As women, we rarely pause to refill our own cups — but y’all showed up and showed OUT! 😁🃏🍷

Here’s to rest, joy, and the sacred power of community. I’m so thankful for the chance to help facilitate joy — and I absolutely can’t wait to do it again next year. 🥹🥰

✨ Recap: Brown Girls Can – Hike & Brunch! ✨

What a magical day on the trail! 🌿 Huge thank you to Brown Girls Plan and Shawanna with H20 Life for the invitation and for creating such a beautiful space for connection, movement, and mindfulness. 💚

We gathered at the stunning Lula Lake Land Trust, took in the crisp morning air, and set out together for a 4.1-mile hike to the breathtaking Lula Falls. Every step was filled with laughter, encouragement, and the reminder that community truly heals. 🥾💫

Grateful for the sisterhood, the serenity, and the shared intention to care for ourselves and one another—in nature and beyond. 🌸

✨💛Sisters, in these challenging times, as our democracy faces continued attacks and the government shutdown impacts so many, it’s more important than ever to care for ourselves and each other. Take a moment to breathe, check in with your mental health, and lean on your fellow women veterans. Remember, our service and sacrifices are not defined by politics or headlines—they are a testament to our courage, dedication, and resilience. 💛✨

No matter the blatant attacks on women in the military, our service matters. We are the elite women who chose to serve our country, and no one can take that from us. Together, we will navigate this storm, lift each other up, and continue to honor the commitment and strength that make us who we are.

💪🌸 Let’s stand together, support one another, and remind ourselves daily of our power and purpose.

🌿✨ Today is National Public Lands Day — the biggest single-day volunteer effort for America’s public lands!

As women veterans, we know the value of service and stewardship. Our local parks, forests, and trails are not just places to hike or paddle — they’re healing spaces, classrooms, and sanctuaries for us and our communities. 💚

Want to give back? Here are a few ways to support your local public lands:
🌲 Volunteer for a clean-up or trail project
💧 Leave no trace while you explore
🌼 Invite a sister veteran to join you outdoors
📣 Advocate for access and protection of green spaces

Together, we can honor the land that heals us while making it more welcoming for the next generation of adventurers. 🌎✨

✨ What a day! We conquered the East Palisades Trail — 4.2 miles of river views, lush forest, and even a touch of bamboo magic. 🥾🌿 The hills were tough, but the laughter (and those river views) made every step worth it. 💪💚

Up next, our Fall Retreat 🍂✨ — where campfires, sisterhood, and mountain magic await. And just beyond that, we’re planning another soul-filling hike at the end of October. 🌲🔥
