🤰 Finding Your Best Birth Position

Did you know the way you position yourself during labor can make a big difference? Changing positions can help your baby descend, reduce pain, and make contractions more effective. Here are some options:

💺 Upright & Standing – Gravity helps your baby move down.
🛏️ Side-Lying – Great for resting while still aiding labor.
🪑 Hands & Knees – Can relieve back labor and help baby rotate.
🛁 Birthing Pool – Warm water can ease discomfort and encourage mobility.
🏋️‍♀️ Squatting – Opens the pelvis and can speed up labor.

Remember, labor isn’t one-size-fits-all. Listen to your body, move around, and find what works for YOU! 💖

✨ Mama, you don’t have to figure it all out on Google ✨

When you’re pregnant or newly postpartum, it’s easy to go down the rabbit hole of late-night searches. But the truth is — nothing replaces real, trusted support. 💕

Instead of getting overwhelmed by endless (and sometimes conflicting) information online, lean into your village:
👩‍⚕️ Your healthcare provider
🤱 Your doula
👭 A trusted friend or family member

You deserve guidance that’s personal, safe, and grounded in experience — not just another search result. 💡

🌸 Postpartum Self-Care Matters 🌸

Bringing a baby into the world is beautiful — but it’s also a big shift for your body, mind, and heart. Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish… it’s essential. 💕 Here are a few simple ways to nurture YOU in the postpartum season:

✨ Rest when you can — even short naps or moments of stillness help your body heal.
🥗 Nourish your body — aim for warm, balanced meals and plenty of water.
🧘 Move gently — slow walks, stretching, or breathing exercises can lift your mood.
💬 Ask for help — let your partner, family, or friends step in so you don’t have to do it all.
🤱 Care for your emotions — journaling, therapy, or talking with a trusted friend can be grounding.

💡 Reminder: You’re recovering AND learning a whole new way of life. Be patient and gentle with yourself — healing takes time.

🍼 IBCLC vs. Lactation Consultant — What’s the Real Difference?

If you’re facing feeding challenges, you’ve probably seen the term “lactation consultant” used a lot — but not every type of support is created equal. Here’s what you should know 👇

👩‍⚕️ IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant)
✅ The gold standard in lactation care
✅ Completed in-depth education, hundreds of clinical hours, and passed a rigorous board exam
✅ Specializes in complex feeding challenges — like tongue ties, low milk supply, or NICU baby support
✅ Recognized globally as a clinical credential

💁‍♀️ Lactation Consultant (non-IBCLC)
☑️ A broader term for someone with lactation training or experience
☑️ May hold certifications like CLC (Certified Lactation Counselor) or CLE (Certified Lactation Educator)
☑️ Wonderful for early breastfeeding support, education, and prevention
☑️ Training and expertise can vary — don’t hesitate to ask about credentials

🤱 The takeaway: All lactation help matters, but when things get complicated, an IBCLC is your go-to expert. And as doulas, we love collaborating with both to make sure you and your baby get the best support possible.

📍Need help connecting with a lactation pro? We can help you find the perfect match for your needs.
