THE SNEAKY THING ABOUT FLOWERS...
1. I now have the opportunity to wake up to brightness and joy and appreciateion...over and over💆🏾‍♀️💛💞🏵🌺🌹🪷💐
And
2. Flowers simultaneously allow us to view the full life cycle of emotion and life. The impending change or perceived loss is visually represented in the slow withering of vitality as they age out of their fullness. ..this process reminds us that life is short.

ALL. OF. THIS. There is so much validity in this post. Single parenthood is the most treacherous "hood" there is! I am wholeheartedly a different parent the 2nd go around. I carried so much anger that I ended up getting a certification to "enhance my work." Not only did the certification enhance my work, but it also slowed my anger from HOT FISH GREASE to rice on the back burner. Do Not get it twisted...the heat is still on at times...but it is not MY WHOLE IDENTITY. My friends...take your time with this life! Some damage is permanent.

I am delighted to drop these photos in my timeline🥳🥳

I am a forever student of IFA! My journey began over 16 years ago with a big break in the middle.

Dance has been my doorway to many parts of African Culture, and I am thankful that it is my voice when I cannot speak.

Dance at First African Church was my gateway to Ifa and Yoruba culture. Afro-Cuban dance specifically has taught me the embodiment of Orisha on a cellular level. It ecstacy to be able to dance AND enhance my own worship experience.

IFA has also been the most SELF affirming "religion/spiritual system" that I have encountered in my 51 years of life.

This Odun weekend was a joy!

May introduce...my bedroom glasses...Hello Sunshine!

At this age, I have nightstand glasses, car glasses, end table glasses, and kitchen glasses!

I buy the cute and inexpensive ones online.
The bedroom glasses are intentionally yellow so that I cal locate them when mixed in with white bedding💆🏾‍♀️🧘🏾‍♀️🤌🏾

Over the years pleasure has been my sacrificial lamb...prioritizing money, kids, business development, education etc...
Pleasure was a once in a while thing...almost becoming knumb to not having fun or connecting with what lights me up.

TODAY, I am working on choosing pleasure the same way I choose what I am wearing for the day...
I want to shop for it like when I have outgrown or worn through my favorite t-shirt...
I want to find comfort in pleasure like my favorite pair of jeans that I can't throw out...or spend time in pleasure like settling in to watch your favorite movie with freshly shaved legs and your favorite body oil.
I want pleasure to find me often...

Until saying yes to pleasure becomes my new normal, I am scheduling it on a very regular basis.
Thiss week's bliss...
Hawaiian Luau Line Dancing party!

For me?!...Not much tops dancing...PERIOD.

Kid-free weekend has officially become kid-free month.

For the past several years, I am kid-free in July and late December.

I have come to look forward to this time and set very high standards of self-adoration in the form of exercise, rest, food, dancing, and spiritual work.

It is also my birth month!

And my family has always done birthdays BIG!...a story for another time...

Today, I am sitting in silence, having the time of my life. ❤️‍🔥🧘🏾‍♀️
