Many of us ignore our ‘inner compass’ in order to earn a living and that can be a kind of selfless heroism, when there are mouths to feed and a home to maintain. But at some point the inner voice can become insistent and start to make itself heard and felt through sickness of one sort or another. As with most crises, the ‘answer’ to our dilemma is more often than not a path flowing naturally from the heart, rather than one arising unnaturally from the mind trying to figure things out.

That path might be hinted at in a dream, or sudden insight, through creative work, or through fate as a 'severe mercy' that halts us in our tracks and forces us to redirect our energy. It may involve us feeling our way 'outside of the box’ and into a brave adventure that will sacrifice neither others' wellbeing, nor our own need to respect and nurture the deepest needs of our unique and true selves.
