As part of Jewish HomeLife's non-profit network of residential communities and at-home care services, Berman Commons is dedicated to the tradition of honoring fathers and mothers while offering peace of mind to their loved ones. Open to all, we offer a convenient and compassionate solution for families with an elderly loved one who needs assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing,

grooming, dressing and more, as needed. Monthly rent includes all utilities, delicious chef-prepared meals, laundry, housekeeping, daily activities, group transportation to local shopping and restaurants, and private transportation to area medical appointments. Rent also includes a complimentary membership to the Marcus Jewish Community Center and access to their indoor/outdoor pools, fitness center, theatre, classes, programs and activities.

Part 2 of Chef James’ National Nutrition Month recipe is here!

If you loved watching this seared salmon with dill sauce come together, here’s the full recipe so you can save it and try it at home.

Seared Salmon
2 salmon filets (6 oz each)
Olive oil, for coating
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 Tbsp Old Bay seasoning
1 tsp black pepper

Season both sides of the salmon. Heat a sauté pan over medium heat, then add olive oil and margarine. Cook the salmon to your desired temperature. Top with dill sauce and garnish before serving.

Dill Sauce
1/4 cup plain yogurt
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 clove garlic, grated
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 Tbsp fresh chopped dill

Mix together and set aside.

Healthy, flavorful, and simple to make. Save this recipe for later.

Ira and Arlene are two of Berman Commons’ most beloved residents and an inspiring couple to everyone who knows them. Recently, they celebrated their 77th wedding anniversary. 💍

Seventy-seven years of love, laughter, partnership, and choosing each other—day after day.

✨ An Afternoon of Elegance: Our First Ms. Berman Commons Senior Pageant ✨

On Sunday, February 1, our lobby was transformed into a beautiful celebration of confidence, beauty, and joy at every age. Residents, families, volunteers, and team members came together for the first annual Ms. Berman Commons Seniors Pageant, and what a magical day it was!

đź‘‘ 15 radiant residents stepped into the spotlight, with professional hair styling and makeup adding that extra sparkle. The runway was alive with smiles, laughter, and heartfelt applause.

💖 One of the most touching moments? Seeing generations come together. Volunteers and family members—including young men from The Epstein School —escorted our contestants down the runway, while families cheered them on—one family even had four generations in attendance!

👸 A huge congratulations to our pageant honoree, Willie R., who accepted her award with grace and pride.

This was more than a pageant—it was a celebration of dignity, resilience, and the joy of community. Thank you to everyone who made this day unforgettable!
