Did you know growing potatoes can be simple and soil-friendly? Grab some seed potatoes or the ones that you let sit to long with the bulging eyes. Cut in half with atleast 2 eyes let them scab over —just a few days to toughen that skin. And next time, try no-dig planting—just place them under mulch, leaves, or straw, and let nature do the work. 🌱 Calling All k-12 Schools — Let’s Grow Together! 🌱

YAH ROOTZ is currently seeking local schools interested in starting, strengthening or expanding their school garden programs!

We are preparing to apply for the **Whole Foods Market Foundation School Garden Grant, and we’re looking to partner with a schools that want to:

✅ Expand agricultural and garden-based education
✅ Support hands-on science and nutrition learning
✅ Maintain and improve an existing edible garden
✅ Grow vegetables, herbs, and fresh produce for student engagement
✅ Create year-round garden programming (school year + summer)

If awarded, funds would support:
🌿 Garden Build maintenance & upkeep
🌾 Seeds and planting materials
🌱 Top-dress soil & soil health improvements
📚 Student agricultural programming

Our mission at YAH ROOTZ is to cultivate food education, sustainability, and empowerment through growing. We believe every child deserves access to hands-on food learning experiences.
