You are no longer reading sentences.

You are decoding… letters.

Lots and lots of letters.

You’ll be scrolling along just fine and then suddenly see something like:
“MWD in MC, ADLs declining, possible UTI, check with POA before SNF transfer…”

…and think…

I’m sorry — what now?

As our loved ones age, it's natural to have concerns about their safety behind the wheel.

If you believe a family member may no longer be fit to drive due to medical or cognitive conditions, it's important to take the right steps to ensure their well-being and the safety of others on the road.

In Georgia, family members can submit Form DDS-270 to the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) if they have concerns about an elderly driver’s ability to drive safely.

This form can be submitted by any concerned individual, including physicians, family members, and caregivers.

The DDS will assess the individual’s ability to drive and may request additional evaluations, ensuring that those behind the wheel are capable of doing so safely.

To submit Form DDS-270 or for more information, visit the DDS website at
