Right now, most insurances are covering this service at 100%! In the case that we can't resolve your problem via video chat, we can schedule an in-person exam. COVID-19 UPDATE

We are only seeing emergencies and urgent patients in accordance with the CDC and American Academy of Ophthalmology guideline. We have also revised our hours because of the decrease in patient volume. Thank you for your understanding during these difficult times.

We will not be able to see patients with the following symptoms.

Fever
Cough
Shortness of breath


We will not be able to see patients that are not wearing a mask. These can be a homemade mask, cloth mask, or anything you can use to cover the face.

Chen Eye Center will provide care for the following

Eye Trauma
Eye Infection/Inflammation/Iritis
Pterygium, chalazion, or other mass lesions with irritation
Uncontrolled glaucoma or advance glaucoma
Severe dry eye or ocular surface disorders
Severe eye pain with or without headaches
Sudden or recent vision loss
New onset of floaters or vision disturbance
Diabetic retinopathy requiring laser or injection
Loss glasses and need a new prescription
Postoperative follow-up

The following conditions will not be provided service until the further notice

Routine eye examination
Routine diabetes follow-up
Glasses fitting except urgent need

Bilingual Vietnamese Ophthalmic Technician or Medical assistant

Candidates need to be able to speak fluent Vietnamese and English. The person needs to have excellent interpersonal skills and willing to work hard in a busy Eye Clinic. The candidate will be required to work as a technician taking in patients but may be cross-trained as a receptionist in the future. The office is located near the City of Norcross. The office will train the right candidate even if you have minimal experience in the medical field. If you think you are the right candidate, please send your resume to us. Benefits include regular office hours 8:30-5:30 (M-F), health insurance, 401 K plan, paid vacations, holidays, and medical insurance.

Responsibilities for Receptionist:

• Multitasking including checking patients and answering the phones
• Prepare patient’s charts and verify insurance
• Handle all administrative duties promptly
• Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff
• Communicate with insurance companies for proper billing procedures
• Previous experience in healthcare administration or other related fields is a plus
• Familiarity with medical billing procedure is a plus
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities for Ophthalmic Technician: (provide onsite training)

• Familiar with ocular anatomy and essential eye drops interaction
• Taking patient’s records using electronic medical record (EMA) using Modernizing medicine
• Schedule patient by using EHR
• Checking visual acuity and eye pressure with tonopen
• Use autorefractor, OCT, HVF, VEP, A-scan, B-scan, pachymeter, Topography, IOL master, etc.
• Assist surgeries including minor procedures
• Dispense necessary glasses or contact lens fitting
• Crossed training to work as a receptionist as needed

Alcon Chinese Contact Lens Trial ($50 compensation per visit)

The patient participating in the trial will get four visits to fit and follow up on the contact lens. You will be given either Biofinity or Alcon brand contact lens to test. You will need to come in for four visits so we can follow up on the fitting. You will be compensated $50 for your time for each visit. You must meet these requirements.

• Chinese
• Age 18+
• Have experience with contact lens
• No Biofinity lens user
• No daily disposable lens user
• No glaucoma
• Vision corrected to 20/20 or better
• No monovision (one eye corrected for distance, one eye for near)
• Uses lens power from -6.00 to +4.00 (spherical)
The trial period will be January 15 – March 18, 2020.
