With all do respect..stop it.

Stop blaming others for your inaction.

Calling for collective rest 🚨

A gentle reminder that it’s okay to not have it all together…irregardless of what you do for a living.

And this is how the world turns…and why barriers to care exist🙄

The original claim was submitted on 11/04/2025. I received a letter in the mail on December 1st asking for a correction.
I submitted the correction and found out on 01/27 that my claim was denied but the denial code was not in alignment with services rendered. I resubmitted the claim and reached out to my rep. Story developing…

Let’s talk about OCD…what it is and what it isn’t.
I can almost GUARANTEE it isn’t what the masses think.

Side bar: Bloopers included-cuz I’m a human 😂

What have you heard about OCD? Let’s chat in the comments.

This really shook me to my core. EXACTLY the reason I keep my doors locked at my office. But even with the right provisions in place, awful outcomes such as these can take place.

I’m not sure what drove her former client to this point, but I am deeply sorry that both of them lost their lives and that others were also physically harmed.

My thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by this tragedy🤍

“Despite a deeply committed team of midwives, nurses and staff, we were unable to overcome systemic and financial barriers that continue to challenge the sustainability of birth centers in Georgia.” 🥺

Heartbreaking. For this staff and the clients who now have to rush to find a new provider.

As a native of Savannah GA and a doula that has supported clients at the birth center there…this hit close to home.

GEORGIA-consistently ranks in the bottom 2 for the WORST place to give birth in the country. Let that sink in.

Not to mention being a black or brown person makes it disproportionally worse.

These systemic issues run DEEP. Like hello? Is anyone paying attention?

Midwifery has proven to be the BEST model for low risk births and yet, here we are again perpetuating harm instead of getting on the side of right.

I understand not wanting to align with bipartisianship but at what point do we see SILENCE is just as bad. Smh.

Shame on you, Georgia. Shame on you.

I completely understand-sometimes life happens. But don’t make it a habit 🥰 Headed home to rub my feet together🤣

Cause a blazer and slacks were NEVER in my deck of cards. 😂😂

All jokes aside, I love the freedom to come dressed well, but comfortable. So if you see me in a hoodie on a weekday, just know I’m warm, and who gone check me, boo? 😂😂💯

I will, however, put that ish on when relevant. But my nails will ALWAYS serve as my creative expression accessory.

Location and occasion matter.

Short answer: It’s a systemic issue.

So many of us go cash based because insurance companies be playing in folks faces!

They don’t treat us like they treat Doctors. You know why? VALUE. And you know how their view on value is increased? CONSUMER PRESSURE.

I’m currently still paneled with 7 insurance companies as a therapist, and 2 as a doula. And I’m still waiting for some of my money to appear. But yet, I continue to show up. THIS practice however, leads to burn out.

Moral of the story: do not blame practitioners for a systemic issue. Majority of us would love to accept insurance, but not at the detriment of ourselves.

Our bills are still due at the same time-they do not care that these companies are choosing not to pay yet.

When I first started out as a therapist, I’ll admit I had this mentality too…and that’s because ignorance is bliss.

Like Lauryn said…”one day, you will understand.”

Systems change when the CONSUMERS speak up.
