What a gift to sit for these portraits in Chicago with the brilliant storyteller
Such an intimate and connected portrait session. He told me his calling as photographer is Black storytelling. He sat really close on a stool and said to just be and he would watch and wait and capture.
Very slow moving with his partner assisting with such intention and care. So healing.

Hobbies!! Here to say that we must experiment and develop hobbies that keep us curious, connected and proud of ourselves outside of the capitalist demand to monetize everything. You can simply try things and follow the spark.

So grateful to for setting up this private workshop for me. I had the best time with my amazing instructor We giggled and vibed the entire lesson. Thankful for clay and slowness and connection.

Y’all. I’ve entered the community and excited to write without ads, trolls, AI mania, doom and constant marketing. I just want to connect directly and write and experiment.

I’m there on the Notes function cracking jokes and musing with my favorite quotes, etc. and also writing the publication “The Portal of Liberation.” I’m new there and learning the platform slowly. Grateful for the opportunity to share. Grateful for your witness. Hope you will join me there.

SunRa. Afrofuturism is a North Star for the framework of Rest is Resistance. I write about it in my first book. I leave breadcrumbs of this expansive world of imagination and future-casting as our way to subvert the systems that see us as human machines. We are enough now. We bend time when we rest. We receive downloads and freedom dream when we rest. We Will Rest.

If you want to deepen into the message of this Ministry, a slow research journey on Sun Ra and Afrofuturism would be a worthy project. You have a computer in your hand. Exit social media and research. Go slow. Daydream. Rest.
