My doula colleague often stressed the importance of eating desirable healthy foods, with plenty of flavor while pregnant. Childbirth education is the same way. There are classes that are very informative out there. Yea you’ll get what you NEED…. but is that what you really WANT! Let’s face it. You want a class that’s going to make you laugh, that’s going to get your birth partner involved, and that’s going to leave a lasting impression of positive vibes on your birth. This precious little love is ROOTING just minutes after birth. She sounds SO CUTE!!😚
Rooting helps the baby get ready to suckle. When the roof of the baby's mouth or cheeks are touched, the baby will start to suck. This reflex doesn't start until about the 32nd week of pregnancy and is not fully developed until about 36 weeks. Infants have a hand-to-mouth reflex that goes with rooting and sucking, and they may suck on their fingers, hands & even Daddy’s chest lol ...gimme sum!
