Congratulations on your beautiful natural childbirth! You were strong and did an amazing job advocating for your birth preferences despite being in an unplanned location! Sometimes, the uterus kicks into high gear and we have to go with the flow. And, despite birthing in a room full of strangers, wow the calm strength you displayed through it all, but especially during crown phase, was quite impressive especially considering you missed your labor role play class. It was my pleasure to be both your childbirth instructor and doula! You rose above a variety of obstacles like a champ and rode the waves 🌊 like a pro! No doubt your sweet little one will be overly brave like her mama! Congratulations 🥳 to all the family, as well!

Congratulations are in order for two beautiful families who came together to make Baby Lennon possible. Mom Shannon lost her uterus after a c-section complication with her first born. Through a grant from the Surrogacy Foundation they met my amazing clients Charlotte and Kevin. I had the pleasure to train the in The Bradley Method many years back. I helped them give birth drug-free to both of their biological children. Charlotte has since gifted several other families the use of her uterus! What a special blessing to share, especially when unexpected hysterectomies occur to save life. I can not be more proud of ALL of these amazing humans! It was my absolute pleasure to quickly guide Baby Lennon into the arms of her mom when Charlotte’s body decided she was arriving rapidly! Dad Patrick shared in a group text: Do we have a story for you.
8:13 all medical staff leaves the room.
8:14 the baby is here! Shannon and the doula caught the baby. And, technically nurse Keri made it back in time to help also! Baby Lennon had three strong women who assisted her into the world in the absence of their midwife who arrived 30m post birth. Sometimes, babies have their own escape plan and we all are along for the ride!
