🌠 LOOK UP TONIGHT — The Southern Taurids Are Here!
📅 November 4–5, 2025
✨ A slow golden rain of fire lights up the autumn sky.

Tonight and tomorrow night, the Southern Taurids meteor shower reaches its peak! Known for their bright, colorful fireballs, these meteors move slower than most — giving you a few magical seconds to watch them burn across the sky.

☄️ What to expect:
• Around 5–10 meteors per hour, but often larger and more vivid than usual.
• Some will glow in green, gold, or orange hues, leaving long-lasting trails.
• Best seen after midnight, under dark, clear skies away from city lights.

🌍 Tip:
Find an open spot with a wide view of the sky — look east or south, relax, and let your eyes adjust to the darkness.

The Taurids are fragments from Comet Encke, one of the oldest comets still crossing Earth’s orbit. Each streak you see tonight is a tiny cosmic relic — a glowing whisper from the dawn of our Solar System.

This couple endured multiple challenges that held up labor, but pressed on despite PROM (premature rupture of membranes- not followed by spontaneous contractions), which led to medical induction, then asynclitic head position, followed by baby presenting posing with hand under the chin and a nuchal cord. Baby was a champ, mom was a champ and utilized nitrous oxide to help ease discomfort in active labor saving epidural use for last resort and to ease a swollen rim of cervix and early urge to push. They worked long and hard together overcoming one obstacle at a time to avoid surgery and give birth vaginally! Dad even helped the midwife catch and cut the cord. Labor and birth can have any number of challenges, it’s important to have a basic knowledge of options and choices to remove fear from the birth process. Moral of this labor story, prepare your body physically, mentally and emotionally. First babies take longer and stamina is key to finishing your labor marathon! Congrats are in order for all their hard work getting baby Beau (It’s a BOY!) into this world! Special thanks to the nursing and midwife staff and don’t let me forget her anesthesiologist (aka Willingham) who was in my childbirth class a few years ago himself. Small world! Another happy “BIRTH” day in the books and another c-section avoided!

Wha can I say, but these two are an awesome duo a strong power couple! They have now rocked their second drug-free childbirth and dad even helped catch too! Special thanks to the awesome midwife team of Women’s Healthcare Associates in Athens, Ga and the excellent natural birth supportive nurses of Piedmont Athens hospital. I am so honored to have been selected to educate two educators. Do yourself a favor if you are pregnant and reading this, don’t cheat yourself. Good birth stories start with a good childbirth class. And, those who actually practice what they are taught, clean eat, exercise and practice what they learn can execute “giving birth” with the ease.
