Abundance Care's "Unsung Heroes" series highlights our team and the family members of our clients to express our gratitude and appreciation for them while also giving you a glimpse of the kinds of people entrusted to care for you or your loved ones.
Ruth, an Abundance Care CNA, goes above and beyond to ensure that Abundance Care's clients are well cared for. She has over 30 years of healthcare experience. When not caring for clients, Ruth enjoys writing, singing, and sewing. Her favorite bible verse, as seen in the post, is Psalm 119:105, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (KJV). Although Ruth does everything according to Abundance Care's Handbook, she does something special for our clients who need an extra push to tackle their day.
Alzheimer's patients often lose memory functions in their brains. But what most people don't know is the importance of keeping the brain active. Ruth helps our Alzheimer's patients with their flashcard memory games, simple math, and practicing writing their name, to name a few. Taking the extra step to provide extraordinary care is what Ruth exemplifies; therefore, she is our Unsung Hero.

Here’s to strong women. May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them.” - Unknown
1. With all of the new (and old) crazes out there, I’m sure there’s at least one fitness activity you’ve been dying to try! Ranging from kickboxing to cycling. From boot camps to Pilates. From rowing to Zumba. Get out of your comfort zone and give one a shot!
2. Your physical health can affect your mental health. Just like your mental health can affect your physical health! All different categories of health and wellness can play into each other. Make sure you’re doing what you can to keep your spirits calm and positive. Do something for yourself that you love and enjoy!
3. Healthy eating is an essential part of performing your best. Start by taking small steps such as cutting out pop or sugary drinks, choosing whole foods over processed.
4. Massage? Say no more. Stress can do some severe damage to the female body. I’m sure most of us know (or have noticed) stress can cause sleeping trouble and weaken the immune system. Take some time to relax and release the stress you have built up from daily life.
5. What’s more fun than taking control of your health and wellness? Doing it with a friend…of course.
6. Sleep deprivation can affect people’s performance. It can also affect the ability to think clearly. Not getting enough sleep can also increase the risk of high blood So be sure to get those Zzz’s!
